A POWERFUL VISION OF EQUALITY HRC seeks to improve the lives of LGBT Americans by advocating for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring families are treated equally under the law, and increasing public support among all Americans through innovative advocacy, education, and outreach programs. HRC works to secure equal rights for LGBT individuals and families at the federal and state levels by lobbying elected officials, mobilizing grassroots supporters, educating Americans, investing strategically to elect fair-minded officials, and partnering with other LGBT organizations. The Human Rights Campaign represents a grassroots force of more than one million supporters nationwide. THE HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN IN ACTION Protecting LGBT families Ending workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity Opposing attempts to use the U.S. and state constitutions to discriminate against LGBT families Addressing health issues and HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment funding and research Advancing understanding of issues relevant to the LGBT community Fighting for repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act HRC AUSTIN The city of Austin has long been known to embrace and encourage its strong, diverse heritage, and the city s large LGBT population reflects that. HRC Austin plays a formidable and active role in the community through outreach, education, events and political involvement. Thousands of HRC members reside in the city of Austin. The HRC Federal Club and Federal Club Council consist of approximately 108 and 49 members respectively that are highly committed individuals and couples from the Metro Austin and surrounding communities, who are substantial donors to HRC ($1,200 - $4,999 annually Federal Club, $5,000+ annually Federal Club Council). This core group of HRC supporters is made up of successful business people, leaders and professionals who are committed to HRC s mission and are active in the community. Their financial support and activism on behalf of HRC generates respect of elected officials. THE VALUE OF THE LGBT MARKET In the past, most companies were fearful to openly address the specific needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, including their own employees and customers. What would their straight customers think? How would their investors view it? Times have definitely changed. All are prominently features of the event, and are high energy, high-touch opportunities for interaction with our most loyal supporters. These are a la carte opportunities in addition to regular sponsorship. VIP Reception: $5,000 The VIP Reception kicks off the annual gala evening with donors, corporate sponsors, and HRC leaders. VIPs include Major Donors who contribute a minimum of $5,000 per year to belong to HRC s Federal Club Council, Corporate Sponsors and HRC Austin and national leaders. The VIP Reception Sponsor has unique and distinct logo signage in the space and is thanked during the Gala Dinner program. Silent Auction: $5,000 The Silent Auction is an annual event in the HRC community and takes place from registration through the close of dinner and exhibits an extraordinary array of items ranging from high-end travel to coveted works of art, to experiences such as restaurant outings, evenings at the theater and spa treatments. Sponsoring the Silent Auction gives a company the opportunity to have exposure to attendees on a more personal, interactive level as guests peruse and select items. The Silent Auction has its own location and offers the venue for unique sponsor signage and visibility during this event. The Silent Auction sponsor is thanked at the start of the live auction and during the Gala Dinner program, and has the opportunity to merchandise/display company materials in a prime location on the auction floor. 6 Wine Service: $5,000 The Wine Service sponsor graciously ensures that there will be high-quality red and white wine on every table for all our guests. The Wine Service sponsor is thanked during the Gala Dinner program and recognized in the event program and event video. And the Wine sponsor will be thanked with logo d signage on every table. DONATE AN AUCTION ITEM Another exciting way to get involved in the HRC gala dinner is to provide an item for auction. Your name or company name will be recognized when it is prominently displayed along with the auction item. Many generous businesses and individuals around Austin donate goods and services that are auctioned off to raise money for HRC. This type of donation is a great way to show your support and generate interest in your product or service. The evening of the dinner begins with guests browsing table after table of enticing lots, writing down bids and even getting into wars to win a coveted prize at the silent auction. Popular items for the silent auction include furniture, home furnishings and artwork, gift certificates to restaurants, fitness packages, jewelry, personal care items and spa / salon gift certificates and apparel. Get a free ad in the program when you donate an auction item at the following levels: Donate an auction item with a retail value of $500 - $749 and get a free quarter page ad in the program. Donate an auction item with a retail value of $750 - $999 and get a free half page ad in the program. Donate an auction item with a retail value of $1,000 or more and get a free full page ad in the program. PROGRAM ADVERTISING The dinner program provides a great opportunity to present your advertising message and show your support to the hundreds to people in attendance. We offer many options.
