30 Conclusions (1 Sustainability is the important aim for development The equality and balance between the 4 sectors economic, environmental and social sustainability and participation has to be attended in all planning strategies. General concepts and plans establish a reliable framework for sustainability as well as for public and private investment. Public investment in public space and infrastructure is followed by private investment in retail, office buildings, housing and large scale projects.
31 Conclusions (2 Numerous activities and projects in the construction sector and the positive price trend in the real estate sector illustrate the positive development of the municipality Realization of the concepts, plans and projects empowers the trust in the sustainable strategy for the future Dortmund is on its way to a better future. The attractiveness of the municipality and the quality of life is growing and encourages more action to achieve a formidable urban future. FIFA World Cup 2006 will give Dortmund a place on the global map
