2 reasons to learn Spanish Spanish is the second language for international communication, with more than 500 million speakers across the world. Four of the countries of the G20 speak Spanish, thus making our common language an essential tool for the business world. Speaking Spanish enables you to travel across 20 Spanish speaking countries and discover the culture and the great variety of its cuisine. Spanish follows English as the second most prevalent language on the internet. The Languages for the future 2013 report states that Spanish is the most widely needed foreign language in all spheres. It is the easiest to learn, to speak, and it opens doors to learning other Romance languages. Studying and practising Spanish increases problem-solving skills, improves memory and mental sharpness. Spain is considered the most biodiverse country in the European Union. It has the second highest number of locations declared UNESCO World Heritage sites in the world. 3 Understanding the Curriculum The curriculum of Instituto Cervantes of Dublin has been developed following the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The CEFR is the basis for the elaboration of language syllabi, curriculum guidelines, testing and teaching materials for all Europe. It describes what language learners need to do to effectively communicate within each language s cultural context. These diplomas offer the only internationally accredited official certification for the Spanish Language and are awarded by the Spanish Ministry for Education, Culture and Sport. Assessment Tests Students who have studied Spanish in the past, but have never studied at Instituto Cervantes, are required to take a level test before enrolling for general Spanishlanguagecourses.Theexamincludesawrittenandanoralpart. Tests can take up to 30 minutes. Price: 25 The level test fee will be deducted from the enrolment fee if the student enrols in a course during the same academic year (September 2016 August 2017). 15 Conditions, refunds and discounts Registration is binding. Enrolling in a course at Instituto Cervantes means the acceptance of the registration s Terms and Conditions included in the enrolment form or available when you register on-line through Clic. Please make sure you read the registration terms and conditions carefully. 15 Our students will be able to avail of a 10% discount in their second course within the same academic year. It is the responsibility of each student to request this discount at the time of registration. Once their registration has been processed, students are not entitled to request any type of discount. This discount is applicable to all returning students. The amount paid at registration will only be refunded when requested in writing and only before commencement of the course. In this case, the Institute will retain 10% of the total amount for administration fees. Once courses have begun, no refund request will be processed under any circumstances (please, read carefully our terms and conditions). Refunds will not be granted for sessions which the student did not attend. Instituto Cervantes reserves the right to cancel the opening of courses when the minimum number of students is not reached or for circumstances out of its control. In both cases, the full amount paid at registration will be refunded.
