2 What is the International Summer Camp? In our summer camps we offer a proven combination of language and sports or language and golf. Your children can study German, English or French, enjoy the outdoor experience of the beautiful Swiss Alps, have fun and make new friends from around the world! Morning: Language Course Learn a language the Summer Camp way. The best way to really learn a language is to hear and use it all day, in all sorts of situations: during lessons, at meal times, whilst playing games, doing sport or organising a party. Study in class practise in real life. This is fun and motivating! Our experienced language trainers from academia Zürich know how to make this happen. The morning lessons in German, English or French are taught to small groups of an average of ten students by enthusiastic, highly qualified teachers. In English and German, up to six language levels are offered, so individual attention and focused tuition are guaranteed. The advanced English and German courses focus on communicative competence, often relating to global issues, and also on creative writing, both narrative and descriptive. Students build on their already extensive vocabulary through reading of authentic materials or high level course book texts at a C2 level, which are then used in discussion, debate or for class presentations. These activities act as a springboard to creative writing of short stories and poems. French for Beginner and Elementary learners (A1 and A2) Due to popular demand, we are now pleased to offer two French courses: Beginners class for children with absolutely no knowledge of French Elementary class for children with a basic understanding of French The aim of the classes will be to develop vocabulary and to build up confidence in the French language. The morning classes will introduce all the language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening with grammar being introduced in a communicative way so that children learn by doing. Afternoon: Sports Programme or Junior Golf Academy Enjoy an action-packed programme of sports and excursions. The students get to enjoy the Lyceum Alpinum s unrivalled sports facilities and explore the Engadin valley, with its mountains, crystal-clear lakes, rivers and so much more. The programme offers many sports, including sailing, swimming, mountain biking, tennis, football, basketball, volleyball and golf, along with activities such as hiking tours and Rope Park. Students who choose the golf programme attend three hours of personalised golf instruction a day. They work on their individual skills and technique and bring their golf swing to perfection. Groups of about ten participants are taught by professional instructors, all of them full members of the Swiss Professional Golfers Association (Swiss PGA), and trained and experienced in teaching golf to children. All are welcome from beginners to low-handicap players! Evenings and Weekends Every evening there is a fun programme of entertainment, sports and cultural events. At weekends, our youngsters enjoy a one-day rafting trip, a relaxing Barbeque day or a glacier excursion. Supervision and Care Our students are looked after round the clock. During their entire stay in Zuoz they are under the care and supervision of teachers and professional activity leaders. They are accommodated in the school s study bedrooms and have full use of the extensive sports fields, tennis courts, gym and fitness centre of the Lyceum Alpinum. Stay for four weeks It is also possible for your children to participate in both camps and intensify their language skills over four weeks, as well as strengthen their new friendships. This option offers: Camp 1 in the Junior Golf Academy and Camp 2 in the sports programme or vice versa.

Also included is a language course certificate and a golf report at the end of the camp. Insurance Parents/guardians are responsible for obtaining suitable health and accident insurance as well as third-party liabi lity for the duration of the International Summer Camp & Junior Golf Academy, including travelling to and from Zuoz. Cancellation For cancellation in the event of illness, or for other valid reasons, a written claim and a medical certificate will be required. In order to obtain a full fee refund, cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. Fees: CHF 96. (Sports programme) CHF 115. (Golf programme) Payment Upon registration (online or by post), the confirmation and an invoice are sent by our administration office. The amount stated must be settled within the stipulated period. Admission is completed upon receipt of payment.
