Remove the () /8 hex head screws CHRYSLER CORDOBA / PLYMOUTH FURY 9-8 DODGE CHARGER 9-8 DODGE MAGNUM 98-9 Remove () Phillips head screws from bottom edge of radio trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screws from above the radio opening. Unscrew and remove the trim ring around the remote mirror control. Remove radio trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws 8

Unclip and remove dash trim panel Remove () /8 hex head screws CHRYSLER LASER / DODGE DAYTONA Remove () Phillips head screws from the bottom corners of the center dash trim panel. Pull out the lower edge of the center dash trim panel to remove panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws

Remove () Phillips head screws from bottom edge of the dash trim panel. Remove the dash trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws CHRYSLER LEBARON 98-9 Remove () Phillips head screw from the bottom corners of the center dash trim panel. Unclip and remove the center dash trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screws from the right side trim panel of the center dash console and remove the side trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws

8 DASH DISASSEMBLY CHRYSLER LEBARON GTS 98-9 DODGE LANCER Remove () Torx head screws from the top edge of the dash trim panel. Remove () Torx head screws from below the radio. Remove () Torx head screw from above top left corner of radio. Remove () Torx head screws from lower left side of the dash trim panel. Unclip and remove the dash trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY DODGE CARAVAN / PLYMOUTH VOYAGER Reach behind the ashtray and release the rear tab on the ashtray housing to remove the ashtray. Remove () screws from the bottom edge of the dash trim panel. Remove () screws from the top edge of the dash trim panel. Unsnap and remove the panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws

Remove () /8 hex head screws CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 99-9 DODGE CARAVAN / PLYMOUTH VOYAGER 99-9 Using a panel removal tool, pry up front edge of top dash panel cover speakers and pull the panel toward you to remove it. Unsnap and remove trim panel grille. Remove () Phillips head screws securing the message center assembly. Unplug and remove message center assembly. Unsnap and remove climate control trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screws from bottom edge of radio/instrument trim panel Unsnap and remove radio/instrument trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws

10 99-9 DASH DISASSEMBLY CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY PLYMOUTH VOYAGER / DODGE CARAVAN terminal to prevent an accidental Open the ashtray and remove the trim above the ashtray by unsnapping the trim. Remove () Phillips head screws from above ashtray. Remove () screws from above the radio. Unclip the radio trim panel and unplug the climate controls wires to remove the panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio. 8 DODGE CHARGER / PLYMOUTH TURISMO 98-8 Unclip and remove radio trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws

Remove () Phillips head screws from lower steering column trim and remove trim. Remove () Phillips head screw at each side of steering column Unclip and remove instrument panel trim. Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio. 8 DODGE DAKOTA / DURANGO Unclip and remove instrument trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws 8

(This will allow easier access to the screws ) Remove () Phillips head screw at each of steering column Unclip and remove instrument panel trim. Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio. 8 DODGE NEON / PLYMOUTH NEON Remove the ashtray. Unclip and remove the radio trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws 9

Remove () /8 hex head screws DODGE PICKUP / RAMCHARGER 9-80 PLYMOUTH TRAILDUSTER terminal to prevent an accidental Remove () Phillips head screws from top edge of dash trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screws from the face of the dash trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screws from under the dash trim panel. Unclip and remove the dash trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio. 0

14 99-9 DASH DISASSEMBLY DODGE PICKUP / RAMCHARGER 98-9 PLYMOUTH TRAILDUSTER 98 terminal to prevent an accidental Remove () Phillips head screws from the edge of the dash trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screw from above the radio opening. Pry out the bottom edge of the dash trim panel and remove the panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws DODGE RAM 99-9 terminal to prevent an accidental Remove the ashtray and () Phillips head screws from inside the ashtray cavity to remove the ashtray bracket. Open the cup holder and remove () Phillips head screws to remove the cup holder assembly. Unclip and remove the dash trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio.

15 99-9 DASH DISASSEMBLY DODGE RAM (DODGE RAM & 00 MODELS ONLY) terminal to prevent an accidental Open door covering power outlet and remove () Phillips head screw. Unclip and remove the dash trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio. DODGE SHADOW / PLYMOUTH SUNDANCE 98-9 terminal to prevent an accidental Remove the ashtray. Unclip and remove the dash trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screw from console side trim and remove trim. Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio.

16 99-9 DASH DISASSEMBLY DODGE SPIRIT / PLYMOUTH ACCLAIM terminal to prevent an accidental Unclip and remove the dash trim panel. Remove the screws securing the side console trim pieces. Move the side console trim pieces enough to gain access to the () screws securing the radio. Remove () /8 hex head screws DODGE FULL SIZE VAN 98-9 PLYMOUTH FULL SIZE VAN 98-8 terminal to prevent an accidental Open glove box and remove () Phillips head screws from inside glove box. Remove () Phillips head screws from bottom edge of dash trim panel. Unclip and remove the dash trim panel Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio.

17 99-9 DASH DISASSEMBLY DODGE FULL SIZE VAN terminal to prevent an accidental Unclip and remove the dash trim panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws JEEP CHEROKEE terminal to prevent an accidental Unclip and remove the dash trim panel Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio.

18 99-9 DASH DISASSEMBLY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE terminal to prevent an accidental Unsnap and remove climate control/wiper control trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screws from top edge of radio/instrument cluster trim panel. Remove () Phillips head screws from bottom edge of radio/instrument cluster trim panel. Pry out the bottom edge of the radio/instrument cluster trim panel and remove panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws JEEP WRANGLER terminal to prevent an accidental Remove the ashtray and () Phillips head screws from inside the ashtray cavity. Remove the cover from the top dash near the windshield (defroster). Remove () Phillips head screws from top of center dash trim panel. 8 Pry out the bottom edge of the center dash trim panel and remove panel. Remove () /8 hex head screws securing the radio.

19 99-9 KIT ASSEMBLY DIN MOUNT PROVISION Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Figure A) Slide the aftermarket radio into the cage and secure. (Figure B) Continue to Final Assembly. A B

20 FINAL ASSEMBLY Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash and make the connection as shown. Metra recomends using the proper mating adapter and making the connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical ) Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly. FINAL WIRING CONNECTIONS Make wiring connections using the EIA color code chart shown below and the instructions included with the head unit. Metra recommends making connections as shown below; Strip, Splice, Solder, Tape.
