Broad Street Suite 120 Philadelphia, PA Tel poe.leggette@cbre.com Dear Tenants of The Navy Yard: In DNC Update #3, we provided suggested detours (subject to change) to travel to and from The Navy Yard during the DNC. This update will provide the Loop and Express Schedules for Monday July 25 through the end of the day, Friday July 29 th. These schedules will also be posted in shuttle shelters and hard copies will be distributed this week on the shuttles. We anticipate heavy traffic and congestion on all shuttle routes and have factored in extra time to the schedules. Shuttle riders can track the real time location of all shuttles using The Navy Yard Shuttle app on their mobile devices, and also use to see current travel conditions. Due to enhanced security precautions, the police have advised us that there will be no direct access via Broad Street to AT&T Station. Broad Street will be completely closed to pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles at Terminal Ave to The Navy Yard. Employees can also stay up to date on the latest DNC-related news on The Navy Yard s Facebook and Twitter accounts. The Navy Yard Loop: The Loop will run a slightly modified route, entering and exiting The Navy Yard via the 26 th Street Gate and stopping at Oregon Station instead of AT&T Station. The Loop will stop at the Tasty Baking Circle on 26 th Street twice, at the beginning and end of the route. Because of the added distance and expected congestion along this route to Oregon Station, additional time has been factored into the Loop DNC schedule. It will wait at Tasty Baking if it arrives early, and then proceed through The Navy Yard. To download this file as a PDF:
2 The Center City Express: The Express Shuttle is expected to run its normal route and schedule prior to 2:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday. After 2:00 p.m. (or if the I-95 southbound ramp is closed), the Express will have to modify its route to The Navy Yard via the east end. Note this road is not open to the public. We have factored in extra time to minimize traffic delays, but have added an extra run between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for employees who are leaving early. NOTE: The rally for Hillary Clinton that will be held on Independence Mall on Friday the 29 th will cause delays and a detour to the Express bus schedule. We still believe that the posted closure of the off-ramp from 95 southbound to Broad Street will be open by 7:00 a.m. Friday, July 29 th. TRAVELING TO THE NAVY YARD: Commuting from the Ben Franklin Bridge, Walt Whitman Bridge, Northeast Philadelphia, or points north via I-95 South to the Broad Street Exit (#17) BEFORE 2:00 PM, JULY 25-28, NO CHANGES: Employees who commute from the Ben Franklin Bridge, Walt Whitman Bridge, Northeast Philadelphia, or otherwise use I- 95 South to The Navy Yard will be able to exit I-95 at Broad Street and go into The Navy Yard in the morning as usual. Friday, July 29 th : there is the potential for periodic closures of the I-95 South exit to Broad Street ramp in the morning as nearby barriers are removed. Broad Street Suite 120 Philadelphia, PA Tel poe.leggette@cbre.com Dear Tenants of The Navy Yard: Today, the Secret Service issued a press release and map outlining road closures for the Democratic National Convention (July 25 to 29). This map shows many road closures around The Navy Yard; however, we have been working with the Philadelphia Police and Secret Service to ensure that employees can get to and from work during this week. Please share this information with your employees. In additional to the Secret Service press release, below is information on the impact to The Navy Yard: Road Closures (suggested detours will be issued next week) The I-95 southbound exit ramp at Broad Street (Route 611/Exit 17) will be OPEN in the mornings for access ONLY to The Navy Yard. This I-95 southbound exit ramp will be closed: Friday, July 22, at 10:00 PM to Saturday, July 23, at 6:00 AM; Starting Monday, July 25, through Thursday July 28, the I-95 southbound exit ramp at Broad Street will be closed each day from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM the following morning; The I-95 southbound exit ramp at Broad Street will be closed on Friday, July 29 to allow for removal of the fencing on Broad St. NOTE: The on-ramp from Broad Street to I-95 northbound will be open all week for those heading to New Jersey, Center City, and points north. Broad Street north of the I-95 overpass (Terminal Ave) will be closed all week; the 26 th Street Gate will be open 24/7. The I-95 northbound exit ramp at Broad Street (Route 611/Exit 17) will be closed from Friday, July 22 at 10:00 PM until midday Friday, July 29. Commuters who use this route will have to exit I-95 earlier and use the Platt Bridge and the 26 th Street entrance. The Navy Yard Shuttles (special schedules will be released the week of July 18 th ) The Navy Yard s shuttle system will be operating all week. o The Loop Shuttle will operate on a reverse route and use the 26 th Street Gate. Please expect delays. o The Express Shuttles will operate to Center City. Please expect delays. 26 th Street Gate Given the increased volume of traffic exiting The Navy Yard via the 26 th Street gate, Philadelphia Police will be on-site to manually direct traffic through the intersection.
