5 Effective We are committed to providing an atmosphere of safety, compassion, respect, and dignity. Our program is based on a structured 12-step modality, coupled with evidence-based cognitive and experiential therapies. This combination along with a vigorous continuing care plan is quantitatively the most effective program for treating the chronic problem of chemical dependency. Cognitive Therapy To surround our residents with the highest quality of care at Cirque Lodge, individual and group therapy is provided by a professionally licensed counselor. This level of therapy allows the individual to take a much closer inventory of their lives in an effort to uncover and address any underlying issues that are involved in their substance abuse or co-occurring disorders. We provide multiple individual and group sessions each week to help each resident according to their personal needs in a private and compassionate environment. Family Therapy Alcoholism and addiction affects the entire family system. Studies show that a comprehensive family program is essential to treat and educate not only the individual, but the family as a whole. Central to our program is the family-involved portion called Family Week. We feel that family involvement with the chemically dependent, whether they have a co-occurring diagnosis or not, is essential in ensuring a positive outcome for not only the resident but for the people who love them. Cirque Lodge provides a week of workshops, process groups and individual therapy. It is truly our signature program! 4

7 Attractive Cirque Lodge derives its name from the beautiful glacier-carved Cascade Cirque sitting high in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains. The majestic Cirque looms directly above the Lodge. Cirque Lodge s world-class residential treatment experience is comprised of two premier facilities: The 16-bed Lodge, located in Sundance, Utah offers the highest levels in privacy and luxury. Imagine a safe and caring rehabilitation program within a luxurious mountain retreat. No matter the season, the setting is spectacular and private. Sitting at the base of the Cascade Cirque, a majestic glacier carved amphitheater, the large windows of the Lodge allow residents to take in the breathtaking and serene surroundings. The Studio is our 44-bed main campus situated at the foot of Mount Timpanogos in the mouth of Provo Canyon. The canyon is a world-renowned fly-fishing and ice climbing area. There is over 110,000 square feet in our multi-story facility, which is surrounded by twelve private acres. The Studio is bestowed with a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor horse arena to offer equine therapy year round. The Studio also offers the nation s finest multi-media indoor ropes and challenge course. No day of treatment is ever lost to weather! 6

11 Active and Enlightened Experiential erapy Cirque Lodge s experiential and holistic programming is strategically and individually designed to physiologically anchor the essential skills and concepts that are being introduced daily in our individual, group, and 12-step sessions. To enhance our cognitive work, we incorporate a number of unique indoor and outdoor activities. Everything is done with a therapeutic outcome in mind. These activities not only help to apply lessons of recovery, but also give the individual a chance to reconnect with body, mind and spirit. 13 Connected At Cirque Lodge we are proud of our commitment to the 12-steps and the programming that surrounds the steps. Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. It is our mantra, and it has been our experience that familiarity with a 12-step program while in treatment ensures a more seamless transition back home and a better quality of life once they get there. 15 Continued Continuing Care We believe residential care is the root system for a new beginning to life-long recovery and more importantly a life well lived. As good as the root system is however, the Continuing Care Plan forms the trunk of the tree. Alumni resources, referents, therapists, and a healthy family system, make up a sturdy trunk.
