4 Diagnosis Increase in cycling in Paris journeys made by bicycle in Paris every day in 2010, vs 84 OOO in % of female cyclists, vs 30% in 2001, 7% of cyclists have less than 20 years, 17% have more than 60 years. 30% for work, 22% for leisure and sightseeing. 10% in intermodal trips. The modal share for cycling is close to 5% today (4% for motorcycles, 15% for pedestrians, 16 % for cars). 4

9 Diagnosis Accident Part of cyclists victims in accidents : 8 % Recurrent fatal accident scenarios : blind-spot assumed turning movement, driving accident 30 km/h areas with little accident : only 30 à 40 accidents each year, out of a total of 700 accidents on the parisian territory. 9

13 Main cycling facilities The layout of the main network has an objective to secure the movement of cyclists and to ensure good traffic conditions, especially on the most circulated streets of the city: bilateral paths or bidirectional cycling facilities. Crossing the Seine will also be facilitated and made possible : 13

16 Calmed traffic zones 30 km/h Paris program Various zones are expected to switch to 30 km/hour to improve the different users of public space coexisting, and the creation of two-way cycle lanes in the one-way streets in 30 km/hour is planned. 16
17 The woods The woods will also be equipped in order to create new walking paths that will be connected to the cycling networks of paris and the neighbouring districts. Several configurations are possible : Creation of dedicated cycle paths Creation of green routes Closing some roads to traffic A signposting system must be installed in order to create cycle tourism routes. 17
18 Parking Surface parking supply Adapting the parking spaces : Densification by offering more numerous areas for a better coverage of the territory Identification of areas whose supply is currently insufficient By collaborative projects (data challenge, crowdsourcing...) - Serving attractive places ( museums, libraries, cultural and sporting centres or shopping streets...) 18
