Samples: Submit, in air-tight containers, 10 lb sample of each type of fill to testing laboratory. C. Materials Source: Submit name of imported materials suppliers. D. Manufacturer's Certificate: Certify Products meet or exceed specified requirements
4 1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Furnish each aggregate material from single source throughout the Work. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 COARSE AGGREGATE MATERIALS A. Coarse aggregate shall consist of crushed or uncrushed gravel, crushed stone. Or crushed slag, having hard, strong, durable pieces, free from adherent coatings. B. AGGREGATE MATERIALS FOR LEACHATE COLLECTION SYSTEM The material shall meet the requirements of Class I and Class II of ASTM D2321 nonangular 1/2 inch to 2 inch crushed stone. The material shall be worked into the pipe haunch to create lateral support for the pipe. The crushed stone shall be granite or similar approved non-calcareous material. 2 inches /2 inch inch 70 to 100 3/4 inch 0 to 15 1/2 inch 0 to 5 3/8 inch 0 to 5 No No No No No C. Coarse Type A2 limestone or granite (ALDOT size No.57) shall be graded in accordance with the following limits:

Coarse Type A4 limestone or granite (ALDOT 825B) shall be graded in accordance with the following limits, and shall meet the following specifications: 2 inches /2 inch 90 to inch 75 to 98 3/4 inch /2 inch 60 to 85 No to 70 No to 54 No to 42 No to 32 No to 18 The fraction passing the No. 40 sieve shall not have a P.I. in excess of 6 nor a L.L. in excess of 25, and contain not more than 2/3 by weight passing the No. 200 sieve. 2.2 FINE AGGREGATE MATERIALS A. Fine Type A4 (Concrete Sand): Natural river or bank sand; washed; free of silt, clay, loam, friable or soluble materials, and organic matter; graded in accordance with ASTM C136; within the following limits:

Section Quality Requirements. B. Coarse Material - Testing and Analysis: Perform in accordance with ASTM D698, ASTM D1557, ASTM D4318, or ASTM C136. C. Fine Material - Testing and Analysis: Perform in accordance with ASTM D698, ASTM D1557, ASTM D4318, or ASTM C136. D. When tests indicate materials do not meet specified requirements, change material and retest. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 EXCAVATION A. Coordinate removal of excess materials from site at no cost to the Owner. B. Remove excavated materials not meeting requirements for coarse aggregate materials and fine aggregate materials from site. 3.2 STOCKPILING A. Stockpile materials on site. B. Stockpile in sufficient quantities to meet Project schedule and requirements
7 C. Separate different aggregate materials with dividers or stockpile individually to prevent mixing. D. Direct surface water away from stockpile site to prevent erosion or deterioration of materials. E. Stockpile unsuitable materials on impervious material and cover to prevent erosion and leaching, until disposed of. 3.3 STOCKPILE CLEANUP A. Remove stockpile, leave area in clean and neat condition. Grade site surface to prevent free standing surface water. END OF SECTION
