1 PSHE SCHEME OF WORK Use of the scheme The scheme of work is a basis for PSHE across the school, and is part of the overall cross-curricular approach. It is included in the school s Creative Curriculum overview. Suggested resources come from the book Health for Life 2 and SEAL (Social & Emotional Aspects of Learning). There are also references to a resource called Values and Visions, and Folens Getting Personal. 3 PSHE SCHEME OF WORK YEAR 1 Learning objectives To develop confidence and responsibility so that they can make the most of their abilities. Possible teaching activities Children learn about likes/dislikes, fair/unfair, right/wrong. Drama lessons/target-setting/discussions To prepare the children to play an active role as citizens. To help children to develop a healthy, safer lifestyle, and an understanding of drugs. To teach children how to develop good relationships and how to respect the differences between people. Take part in discussions with one person and groups. Set rules for groups and in the classroom. Draw or paint pictures of safe activities. Discussion of hazards and dealing with them.
