The working languages of the workshop will be English. HOTEL: For convenience, accommodation is encouraged for participants at Grand Millennium Hotel where the workshop will be held. A hotel room at a special price negotiated MYR per room per night (approximately USD). ++ The above room rates are subject to 10% service charge and 5% government tax, inclusive of buffet breakfast and in-room broadband. Hotel bills will be settled individually by participants. Participants are required to send their completed hotel reservation form (page 6) directly to the hotel. Upon receipt of the hotel request form, confirmation on hotel reservation will be advised by Grand Millennium Hotel accordingly. Participants are advised to remind the hotel front desk assistant and cashier of their participation in the workshop when checking in and out, in order to enjoy special rates. Lunch at the hotel is included in the conference package for all participants. For dinner each participant is required to make his/her own arrangements.

2 The hotel is strategically located in the heart of Bukit Bintang, also known as downtown Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle, the city s premier business, entertainment, and shopping district. UNEP will not assume responsibility for any other extra costs. TRAVEL For sponsored participants UNEP will provide a round trip economy class air ticket from the country of origin to the venue of the meeting by the most direct route. SPONSORSHIP Sponsored participants will receive the relevant portion of their DSA on the first day of the consultations. The DSA will be paid in line with UN rules and regulations. UNEP shall not be liable for any costs, including but not limited to: - Costs incurred by participants for travel insurance, accident insurance, medical expenses and hospital expenses in connection with their participation in the meeting; - Compensation for death, disability or illness of the participants through their participation in the meeting; - Expenses and costs of international travel, such as passport fees, visas, immunizations, port calls, travel to and from the airport; - Loss or damage to personal property of participants; - Purchase of property and compensation for damage caused by weather or other conditions; - Other unforeseen expenses. ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS To facilitate the payment of the daily subsistence allowance, eligible participants are requested to provide their passports and inbound boarding passes to the UNEP staff at the venue. VISA Participants are responsible for the necessary steps to obtain their visa. A valid passport or other travel documents recognized by the Malaysian Government required by all participants. The documents shall be valid for more than six (6) months from the date of entry. Foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia must apply and obtain a visa in advance at any Malaysian Representative Office located in their respective countries before entering to Malaysia.

3 Application can also be made online through I-Visa System (applicable for tourist from Chennai and New Delhi, India or Shanghai, China only). LOCAL TRANSPORT By Rail KLIA Express Rail Link takes 30 minutes from the airport to KL Sentral at RM35. Guests can get on the feeder bus to the nearest light rail transit station. Via rail or subway, the KTM Train Station is located 5km southeast of the hotel. The KL Light Rail Transit (Hang Tuah Station) is located 2km northwest. By Car The hotel is 45 minutes to an hour away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). From KLIA only Airport Limo limousines and budget taxis are allowed to pick up passengers. Participants can buy coupon from Airport Limo counters just before exist the international arrivals gate, or just outside the domestic arrival gate. Transportation from primary airport (KLIA) to hotel is available 24 hours via taxi at RM80 per way and hotel limousine at RM250 per way (subject to prior arrangement with hotel and additional 50% charge from midnight to 7am). Please contact the hotel directly in that regard. Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) Airport is one hour away from the hotel. Buses run the route from KL Sentral to LCCT at RM9. Taxis to LCCT will cost RM90

4 minimum. Puduraya Bus Station covers southern states of Malaysia and is 3km southeast of the hotel. Putra Bus Station at 8km northeast covers northern states. TIME AND WEATHER Malaysian time is eight hours ahead of GMT. The country experiences tropical weather year-round. Temperatures are from 21ºC (70ºF) to 32ºC (90ºF). Higher elevations are much colder with temperatures between 15 C (59 F) to 25 C (77 F). Annual rainfall varies from 2,000mm to 2,500mm. For more information about weather in Malaysia, please refer to: ELECTRICITY SUPPLY Voltage is Volt AC at 50 cycles per second. Standard 3- pin square plugs and socket are used. POSTAL AND TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES The working hours of post office are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm daily, except for the first Saturdays of the month, Sundays, and public holidays when it is closed. Local calls can be made from public phones using the local currency or prepaid cards. International calls can also be made using card phones or at any telecom office. CURRENCY The local currency is the Malaysian Ringitt. All major convertible currencies can be easily exchanged for the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) at the prevailing market rates. Exchange rate is MYR 3.01 = US$1.00 (UN Operational Rate of Exchange as of 23 April 2012). FOREIGN EXCHANGE All major convertible currencies and travelers cheques can be easily exchanged for the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) at the prevailing market rates. In case participants need Malaysian currency to pay for transportation from the airport to hotels, they may exchange money at banks inside the airport after clearing customs formalities. HEALTH A Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from all delegates coming from or going to/through Yellow fever endemic countries as listed below:
