The Cote d Azur (or French Riviera) has long been one of the great attractions of France, for the glamour, sunshine, beaches and sophistication of resorts such as Nice, Saint Tropez and Cannes - a reputation that is well earned. The Cote d Azur is a lovely region to explore, with much more hidden gems to discover as one would think knowing just the famous ones. Bechance the creative world of the famous French artists and visit two of the most important museums in France. Experience a unique and memorable tour that suits your interests. We have chosen five exciting tours for you and your stay in Cannes during our congress. Feel free to catch the French Riviera glamour and visit cities like Nice, Monaco or Saint Tropez. Two of the five tours are a must for every gourmet; there will be a cooking lesson at La Colle sur Loup and a wine tasting at the renowned Château Sainte Roseline. In Grasse you can create your individual perfume: You can choose your favorite fragrances and give it a name. 3 TOUR 2 Saint Tropez and wine tasting Friday, 20 th September :00am to 6:00pm Drive to Saint Tropez (1h 30 min), an old fishermen s village that has become the meeting place of the international jet set. Saint Tropez has succeeded to preserve its charm of long ago. From the port and its restaurants passing by the Place des Lices and its pétanque s players, experience the magical atmosphere. After lunch at one of the local restaurants, drive to the Sainte Roseline vineyard. Based on seven centuries of vine cultivation, it can be said Château Sainte Roseline is one of the most outstanding in Provence. Château Sainte Roseline covers an area of 108 hectares on which eleven different grape varieties are grown. Back at the hotel around 6:00pm. 4 TOUR 3 Monaco and Villa Rothschild 8:30am to 6:00pm Leaving from the hotel at 8:30am for a full day of discovery of the Villa Rothschild on the Cap Ferrat and the Principality of Monaco. We will drive along the coast and pass Nice and Villefranche before reaching the Villa Rothschild. Located on the Cap Ferrat, the Villa Ile de France, built in 1911 for the Baroness Beatrice of Rothschild, is the only private home from the Belle Epoque open to the public. The Venitian style villa is surrounded by nine magnificent gardens. After 1h 30 min of visit and free time at the villa, we will continue to Monaco, which is only 15 minutes away from the Cap Ferrat. We will start with a visit of the Old Town and the palace, the cathedral where the Grimaldi s are buried including Grace & Rainier III, the Oceanographic museum, the parliament and the court house of Monaco. We will also visit the private apartments of the Grimaldi where Grace and Rainier III used to live. A lunch will be served at a local restaurant in front of the Palace. After a short drive along the race track of the Formula 1, we will access Monte Carlo for a visit and some free time before returning to Cannes. 5 TOUR 4 Nice & Eze 9:00am to 6:00pm Leaving Cannes on the coastal road via Antibes, you will reach Nice, the capital of the French Riviera after 1 hour s drive. Scenic drive of Nice including the Promenade des Anglais, the Cimiez district, the port district and the Mount Boron. Stop and visit the Marc Chagall museum. Chagall saw the Old Testament as a 'human story... not with the creation of the cosmos but with the creation of man, and his figures of angels are rhymed or combined with human ones'. The National Museum of Marc Chagall was opened when the artist was still alive. The museum collection consists of 12 major paintings illustrating the bible and expressing the joy and the wisdom of the artist. We then drive to the Old Town and enjoy a walking tour showing you the beautiful Italian style architecture remembering the past of the city that belonging to the Piemont and Sardinia kingdom until After lunch, we will continue to Eze Village, a medieval village located between Nice and Monaco. This village has been occupied since the 700 BC successively by the Ligurian, the Romans, the Provencal, the Piemontese and the French since Join us as we admire one of the most breathtaking views from the top of the village surrounded by the remains of the medieval castle and a beautiful exotic garden. 6 TOUR 5 Perfume creation in Grasse Saturday 21 st September 2013 Afternoon tour: 2:00pm to 6:00pm You have no doubt dreamed of the day you would find your own personal fragrance. One that will be exclusively yours. The scents and smells that will remind you of fond memories, of people, places and things. With a lively and entertaining approach, a professional 'Nose' will explain to you the architecture of a good perfume, that is Top Note (peak note), Middle Note (heart note), and Base Note (fond note). He will evaluate your unique olfactory sensitivities and explain the classifications of the large families of scents along with their typical components. Then, he will conclude by describing the basic principles of achieving a harmonious formula. You will take home your own perfume in a bottle personalized with your name or the name you have chosen for your creation.
