For an effective weight loss, this should be between 12,000 and 15,000 steps. If you want to have high level of fitness, you should make at least 3000 or more steady steps per day. Press the UP key to select 12 or 24 hour display. The hours between 12 PM and 12 AM are indictated by the P icon in the display. 3. Press and hold the SET key for 3 seconds. 4. The Hour Digits will start flashing. Press the UP key to increase the variable. Hold the UP key to quickly scroll through the variable. 5. Press the SET key to confirm and switch to the minute setting. 6. The Minute Digits will start flashing. Use the UP key to set the minute variable. 7. Press the SET key to confirm. SETTING WEIGHT ( PasoPetit Calorie Monitor (SDC) only ) 1. Press the MODE key to Calorie mode. 2. Press and hold the SET key for 3 seconds. 3. The Weight Digits will begin to fl ash. Press and hold the MODE key for 3 seconds to reset steps and distance to zero. 3. Continue to hold the MODE key until the units variables begin to flash. 4. Press the SET key to switch the units between MILE / INCH or KM / CM. 5. Press the MODE key to confirm. SETTING DISTANCE UNITS ( PasoPetit Calorie Monitor (SDC) only ) 1. Press MODE key to Step mode. 2. Press and hold the UP key for 3 seconds to reset steps and distance to zero. 3. Continue to hold the UP key until the units variables begin to flash. 4. Once the units are flashing, press the UP key to switch the units between MILE / INCH or KM / CM. 5. Press the SET key to confirm. SETTING USER DATA DETERMINING STRIDE LENGTH ( PasoPetit Distance Monitor (SD) & PasoPetit Calorie Monitor (SDC)only) 1. You will need a tape measure to accurately measure your stride. 2. Mark a spot on the ground. Start with your toe on that point and take 10 natural strides of the type you want to measure (run, walk, jog, etc.) 3. Mark the place where the toe of your forward foot stops. 4. Measure the distance between the two points and divide by 10. SETTING STRIDE LENGTH ( PasoPetit Distance Monitor (SD)only) 1. Press the MODE key to Distance mode. 2. Press SET key. The Stride Length variable will begin to flash. 3. Once the variable is flashing, press the SET key to increase the variable. 6 SETTING USER DATA SETTING STRIDE LENGTH ( PasoPetit Calorie Monitor (SDC) only ) 1. Press the MODE key to Distance mode. 2. Press and hold the SET key for 3 seconds. 3. The Stride Length digits will begin to flash. Press the UP key to increase the variable. Hold the UP key to quickly scroll through the variable. 4. Press the SET key to confirm. USING THE PEDOMETER CHRONOGRAPH ( PasoPetit Calorie Monitor (SDC) only ) - The Chronograph automatically starts when the pedometer is active. - The Chronograph automatically stops when the pedometer is in-active. - The Chronograph is automatically reset when the UP key is pressed and held for 3 seconds in Step mode. MOTION SENSITIVITY SWITCH The PasoPetit can be made more or less sensitive to motion by repositioning the MOTION SENSITIVITY SWITCH. Determine the proper amount of motion sensitivity for an individuals walking pattern by experimenting with different settings. 1. Adjust the switch to the right for the MOST SENSITIVE SETTING. (Used by most people with a smoother walking stride). 2. Adjust the switch to the middle for the AVERAGE SENSITIVE SETTING. 3. Adjust the switch to the left for the LEAST SENSITIVE SETTING. 10 ENGLISH ENGLISH 11

7 REPLACEMENT OF BATTERY 1. Release the battery door by removing the small screw shown in the position below. Take special care not to lose the screw after you remove it. 2. Remove the battery door using a coin or other small object. 3. Remove the old battery. 4. Install the new battery. Make sure the polarity of the battery is correct. 5. Replace the battery door. 6. Carefully - tighten the screw back into position. Take special care not to over tighten the screw. SCREW POSITION WEARING THE PasoPetit The PasoPetit clips easily and securely to the waist or belt of your pants or shorts. For best results, keep the PasoPetit in line with the outer seam of your clothes. NOTE: Some situations may result in incorrect step counting. 1. The step counter is not directly perpendicular to the ground. The Paso Petit face must be at least 60 degrees to the ground. 2. Dragging feet while walking or uneven footsteps. 3. Sports other than walking or jogging. 4. Inside or on a moving vehicle. 5. The motion of standing up, sitting down or climbing a set of stairs. 1.5V LR ENGLISH ENGLISH 13

8 CARE OF THE PasoPetit 1. Do not immerse the PasoPetit in water. Do not wash it or touch it with wet hands. Be careful that water does not get into the unit. 2. To clean the PasoPetit, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth moistened in a solution of water and a mild neutral detergent. Never use volatile agents. ( Benzene, thinner, spray cleanser, etc. ) 3. Do not subject the PasoPetit to strong shock, drop or step on the unit. 4. Store the PasoPetit in a cool, dry place. 5. Cold temperatures may cause the display to dim or fail completely. Normal operation should return when the unit warms up. 6. Avoid subjecting the PasoPetit to direct sunlight, high temperatures, high humidity or dust. 7. Remove the battery if the PasoPetit will not be used for three months or longer. 8. Keep this manual and any other documentation that comes with the PasoPetit in a safe place for future reference. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION To assure the correct use of the PasoPetit, basic safety measures should always be followed including the warnings and cautions listed in this instruction manual. 1. Contact your physician or health care provider before beginning a weight reduction or exercise program. 2. Keep the Paso Petit out of reach of young children. The Paso Petit contains small pieces that may be swallowed. Immediately contact your physician if any piece is swallowed. 3.
