1 INTRODUCTION - CASEWORK CONSTRUCTION DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS Overview Cabinets Standard cabinet is manufactured to AWI Premium Grade flush overlay construction. Each cabinet is constructed from premium grade lumber and panel product of the species of wood specified. A variety of panels and glues are available to meet just about any environmental, appearance, or durability requirement. Cabinets are framed and fastened using AWI Premium Grade dowel pin construction. Each base cabinet has 3/4 side and bottom panels as well as 3/4 front, top, rear, and intermediate frames, joined together with concealed hardwood dowels and NAUF glue. The front exposed edge is hardwood edgebanded in the same species as the face veneer. Wall and floor cabinets have 1 top panels and wall cabinets also have 1 bottom panels. Toe spaces are 3 deep by 4 high. All door cabinets have a full height removable back panel. Drawer cabinets have an optional split back panel. Sink cabinets have a partial back panel to facilitate plumbing. Open and glazed cabinets have veneered back panels. TOP RAIL DRAWER LINER DRAWER WITH INTEGRAL SIDES & BACK DOOR FRONT Doors and Drawers Doors and drawers are manufactured to AWI Premium Standards. Solid doors and drawers are 3/4 particle board. Glazed doors are framed and made from the same species as the face veneer. Drawer bodies are 1/2 9-ply Baltic Birch dovetailed at all 4 corners. NAUF 1/2 plywood panels, painted cold rolled steel or stainless steel are other drawer body options available. Drawer bottoms are 1/4 hardboard or veneered panel that are let into routed slots on all four sides of the drawer body and hot glued along the entire perimeter on the bottom. Drawers and doors are edgebanded with hardwood of the same species as the face veneer. Hardware Doors that are 48 high and higher have at least three hinges and doors that are less then 48 high have two hinges. Standard hinges include five knuckle stainless steel hinge, three knuckle barrel hinge, and concealed European style hinge. Drawer suspension is 100# nylon tire or 100# full extension. File drawers are always 150# full extension. Glazed doors are 1/4 clear laminated safety glass or float glass held in place with a removable brown plastic retainer. Sliding doors shall be set in an extruded aluminum track. ROLLER CATCHES Shelves All shelves are made from veneer core panel product of the same species specified for the face veneer. Shelves 36 or less in width are 3/4 thick and shelves greater than 36 wide are 1 thick. Shelves are adjustable on 1-1/4 increments and held in place via single pin supports or seismic plastic twin pin supports. The front is hardwood edgebanded in the same species as the face veneer. Table Frames and Apron Panels Frames are 3-3/4 high and 3/4 thick lumber. Legs are 2 by 2 solid lumber with 2-1/2 high flexible shoes. Frames are bracketed and securely bolted together. HINGE (See Page H7) DRAWER FRONT BOTTOM ADJUSTABLE SHELF ENCLOSED TOE SPACE FSC certified sustainable materials and no added urea-formaldehyde (NAUF) are available options. Mott Maufacturing wood casework division is working towards registering to the ISO standard. H1

Above is an island type configuration with 60 wide counter top, (2) 22 deep cabinets, and a 14 removable filler panel. The area covered by the 14 removable filler panel provides a large accessible space for required services. Above is a base cabinet configuration with 30 deep counter top, 22 deep base cabinet and 7 removable filler panel. The area covered by the 7 removable filler panel provides accessible space for required services. Base cabinet side panels can also be extended to 29 deep to eliminate the use of a 7 filler and provide a continuous cabinet look, cabinet interior will remain 22 deep. H2

12 Ordering Double Sided Wall Units NON-STANDARD SIZES Specifying the part number of a non-standard size for a cabinet, table, and miscellaneous items is accomplished through the following steps: 1. Identify the required product configuration from the catalog drawings. 2. Identify the next largest or the largest standard product size from the catalog charts. 3. Identify the standard part number from steps 1 and 2 above. 4. Determine the non-standard part number by placing S at the beginning of the standard part number identified in 3 above. 5. After the non-standard part number, list options required according to the special features ordering codes in the Ordering Special Features section. 6. After the non-standard part number that includes all option codes, list in the noted sequence, the product s required: Width, Height, Depth Part numbers that relate to imperial units will have dimensions noted in inches, to the nearest quarter of an inch and noted to two decimal places. Part numbers that relate to metric units will have dimensions noted in millimeters.
