Itinerary Key: Breakfast Lunch Dinner Drink Afternoon Tea Longer walks and steps may be involved on this day 1 Travel to Lake Bled Morning: meet your One Traveller representative and fellow travellers at Heathrow airport before boarding the flight to Zagreb. On arrival a luxury coach will take you to the hotel for a seven-night stay. Afternoon: familiarise yourself in your new surroundings and enjoy the hotels wellness facilities or a gentle stroll in Bled.

3 Evening: hosted welcome drinks reception and dinner. 2 Lake Bohinj & the Triglav National Park Morning: an unhurried excursion to one of Europe s most unspoilt areas; Lake Bohinj, the Voje Valley and the Triglav National Park. The park was named after Mt Triglav (three headed), the highest mountain in Slovenia and features on the national flag and coat of arms. We include a cable car ride, relaxing lake cruise and lunch in a local restaurant. This is a fantastic first day and will help you to adapt to your stunning new surroundings and acquaint yourself with your fellow travellers. Afternoon: mid-afternoon return to the hotel to relax and enjoy the hotel s facilities. 3 Predjama Castle and Postojna Caves Morning: situated in the gaping mouth of a cavern, looking unconquerable (but today easily accessible), the 13 century Predjama Castle has one of the most dramatic settings to be found. Afternoon: Postojna: visit the network of caves on a thrilling train ride. You will also see the fascinating cave mammals (once believed to be the offspring of dragons) in the Proteus Cave-Vivararium. th 4 Bled and Island Morning: an included gentle horse and carriage ride around the lake followed by a traditional wooden Pletna boat ride to the idyllic wooded island to visit the Church of the Assumption. Ring the famous bell that has been tolling since 1534 and pause to enjoy the scene and indulge over tea/coffee and cake. Afternoon: a relaxed afternoon to enjoy the hotel s spa facilities or wander the tranquil town of Bled. Evening: dinner in a local restaurant with a drink included.

4 5 Piran & Lipica Stud Farm Morning: drive to Piran (situated on the coast) with architecture influenced by the Venetians with clustered medieval structures, narrow winding streets, houses huddled close together and numerous squares and churches. Tartini Square is the gem found in the very centre of Piran. It was named after the famous violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartin. Afternoon: Lipica; the stud farm where the famous stallions were first bred during the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Tour of the stables to see the stallions and see a magnificent dressage performance. 6 Ljubljana Morning: visit one of Europe s smallest capital cities. Ljubljana, sitting on three bridges, is known as the City of Palaces, with its ornate art nouveau architecture. The Mestni Trg (Town Square) is just a short stroll from the three bridges where you'll find Ljubljana's Town Hall and the fountain of the three Carniolan rivers. The colourful Trgnica (open air market) runs weekdays and Saturdays. Here you'll find an incredible selection of fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and wicker creations. A guided tour is included. Afternoon: free to explore. You could take the funicular to the castle for spectacular views over the city before returning to Bled. 7 Free day to enjoy Bled and its surroundings Morning: enjoy the tranquillity of Bled or join your Tour Manager on a gentle optional walk (small additional cost) to the spectacular Vintgar Gorge where the roar of the Radovna river echoes along the metre-long gorge. Narrow passages and bridges lead you on walkways to the end of the gorge, which is marked by the magnificent, 16-meter-high Šum waterfall; the highest fluvial waterfall in Slovenia. Afternoon: relax and enjoy Bled and your hotel s facilities at your leisure. Evening: Slovene wine tasting in a village wine cellar with a farewell dinner and folklore show in a local restaurant.

5 8 Farewell Slovenia One final visit to the breakfast buffet and a last look at beautiful Lake Bled before the drive to the airport and flight back to the UK. Included excursions Ljubljana Ljubljana, one of Europe s smallest capital cities, sits on three bridges and is known as the City of Palaces. Its art nouveau architecture is truly ornate. The Mestni Trg (Town Square) is just a short stroll from the three bridges where you'll find Ljubljana's Town Hall and the fountain of the three Carniolan Rivers. Bled island A half day that commences with a horse and carriage that collects you from the hotel for a ride around the lake followed by a gentle float across on traditional Pletna boats to the island with its idyllic 15th Century church. Here we include coffee/tea and traditional Bled cream cake. Dominated by the Clock Tower with pavement cafes overlooking the harbour it s a great spot to enjoy lunch before continuing through a small corner of Italy to Lipica the original home of the famous Lipizzaner stallions to watch a magnificent dressage performance. 6 included before heading to Postojna for a visit to the easily accessible network of caves with a thrilling train ride. Marvel at the great halls and huge underground formations developed over millions of years by tiny drops of water. Hotels Hotel Golf The hotel has a comfortable bar and lobby. Also a lobby gift shop where stamps and international newspapers can be purchased. The restaurant overlooks the lake and has an extensive buffet.
