2 About Urban COPper HSM s Urban COPper line of ammunition was developed as a result of increased demand for a magic bullet for law enforcement and military use that did it all. In a perfect world, the magic bullet would simplify the shooter s mission by eliminating the many variables associated with switching ammunition. Unfortunately, discovery of the magic bullet has successfully eluded developers and there is no indication of anything appearing in the near future. This magic bullet would have mystical properties and would perform as desired in any medium, under any conditions. It wouldn t overpenetrate, but penetrate enough through glass, metal, wood. It would be accurate at close and extreme ranges. It wouldn t be deflected from its intended path after penetrating through any type of material. It would still be able to neutralize the target whether organic or materiel. Since the magic bullet is still a mythical creature, the most logical solution was to develop specialty ammunition for each intended application. HSM has developed such a line of ammunition which is highlighted in this document. Through years of development, HSM has produced ammunition that can be applied during specific missions and greatly increase the success of target neutralization. Glass Penetrator Use for hostage situations inside vehicles, buildings and even behind bank glass. Light Armor Penetrator There s nothing LIGHT about it! Use for disabling vehicles at checkpoints or longer ranges or engaging threats that have taken cover behind vehicles. Even our 5.56x45mm LAP will easily penetrate vehicles and will also penetrate glass. Our 338 Lapua Match LAP enables shooters to engage smaller targets at extreme range with devastating performance. Long Range Available for 338 Lapua, 375 CheyTac, 408 CheyTac and 50 BMG. Used for extreme long range shooting. For medium range, these bullets will also penetrate most heavy vehicles easily. Close Quarters Entry With many encounters occurring in buildings in populated areas, over-penetration is always an issue. Our CQE ammunition helps reduce chance of injury to team members and innocent bystanders by fragmenting into tiny pieces even through drywall while still having devastating impact on target. 3 Ballistics calculations at 3500, 59 degrees F, 78% Humidity Glass Penetrator Solid copper alloy with a special profile for superb penetration of automobile windshields and other glass grain, 2840 fps (.5.56x45mm) 6.8mm grain, 2600 fps (6.8 SPC) grain, 2690 fps (.308 Winchester) grain, 2850 fps (.338 Lapua) (This bullet was tested on bank glass and was found to be the only round successful in penetrating with minimal deflection. 4 .224 cal. 62 gr. Glass Penetrator Firearm used was semi auto AR cal. 1 in 9 twist barrel. Accuracy: We fired several 3 round groups from 50 yards and found the rounds grouped consistently sub-inch. Groups ranged from.56 in. to.78 in. We felt that for the intended purpose of penetrating barriers, that this round performed very well in the accuracy test. Cycling Ability: We shot numerous groups and also rapid fired several 10 round strings without any cycling problems Penetration: We fired this round through car windshields, hollow core doors, solid core doors, metal doors, heavy double pane store windows, bank glass, standard metal post office mail box, car doors, cow and pig heads. The round performed flawlessly on all tests. *One very impressive performance feature we noticed was when shot through glass, the Punch Round produced very minimal glass spawling. It also out performed our standard issued Federal Match 55 gr. hollow point boat-tail and the Federal Tactical bonded rounds when shot through the same barriers. The bullet held together very well when shot through the barriers tested, and retained approx. 90% or more of its initial weight when shot through the barriers tested. We also found that the round maintained its flight path much better when shot through barriers. Example: When the Federal 55 gr. hollow point boat-tail, is shot through barriers, especially glass, it often breaks apart to such an extent that the bullet loses any lethal stopping power, even on targets that are only two or three feet behind the barrier. The Federal Bonded round held together well and demonstrated good penetration but caused similar spawling of glass as the hollow point round did. We feel comfortable shooting this bullet through normal barriers found in houses, apartments and cars such as double pane windows, solid core doors, windshields and car doors, if the suspect is within 4 yards of the barrier. We feel that at that distance or closer the round will hit the intended target with minimal deflection when shot at minimal angles. Draw Backs- The only concern we found with this round is possible over penetration of a targets in some environments. Conclusion: When used for its intended purpose, of barrier penetration, this round clearly out performed the Federal Ammunition used by most Law Enforcement Agencies currently. The added bonus of minimal glass spawling makes this round an excellent choice for barrier penetration situations. Urban COPper Besides our specialty ammunition, we also have training and duty ammunition in standard calibers.

5 Glass test was conducted using the FBI protocol for glass test. One piece of A.S.I. one-quarter inch laminated automobile safety glass measuring 15x18 inches is set at an angle of 45 to the horizontal. The line of bore of the weapon is offset 15 to the side, resulting in a compound angle of impact for the bullet upon the glass.

6 GLASS TEST.308 Glass Penetrator These targets were set 18" behind the windshield and equal results were obtained from 20 to 100 yards.

7 308 cal. 168 gr. Glass Penetrator Weapon used was Remington 308 cal. Sniper Rifle 1 in 11 twist barrel. Accuracy: We fired several 3 round groups from 100 yards and found the rounds grouped consistently sub- inch. Groups ranged from.58 in. to.94 in. We felt that for the intended purpose of penetrating barriers, that this round performed very well in the accuracy test. Penetration- We fired this round through car windshields, hollow core doors, solid core doors, metal doors, heavy double pane store windows, bank glass, standard metal post office mail box, car doors, and cow and pig heads. We felt this round increased our ability to engage targets behind barriers at twice the distance behind the barrier as we were able to with either of the Federal Rounds. Draw Backs: The only concern we found with this round is possible over penetration of a target. Conclusion: When used for its intended purpose, of barrier penetration, this round clearly out performed the Federal Ammunition used by most Law Enforcement Agencies currently. The added bonus of minimal glass spawling makes this round an excellent choice for barrier penetration situations.

The standard M33 Ball will only penetrate at a significantly shorter distance than 1,000 yards. The 647 gr. LAP will penetrate at 1,700 yards and possibly at 1,750 yards. 13 50 Cal. 773 gr. T50 Long Range Weapon used 50 cal. BMG Accuracy: This round proved to be very accurate and shot sub minute of angle (MOA) groups out to 1100 yards. We shot 60 rounds through the rifle at 100 yard increments from 100 out to 1100 yards. Some examples: 200 yards 1.2 group, 500 yards 3.4 group, 700 yards 5.6 group, 1100 yards 8.7 group. We felt with more time and a better barrel on the rifle better accuracy could be achieved. This round was very impressive for accuracy. Penetration: We put this round through the same tests we did with the 408 and achieved the same results. Through heavy bank glass we still had deflection of the round if the target was beyond 5 yards behind the barrier. Draw Backs: The only draw back to this round is the bad publicity the 50 caliber has gotten over the last couple of years by the press. It is a hard sell to Police Departments who have to justify its use to city councils. It carries a bad perception to uneducated citizens and council members. Conclusion: This is a great 50 caliber round that out performs other 50 caliber ammunition and should be a big winner with the military because of its accuracy. For police it probably will not catch on as it is to hard to sell the need for this large bore in urban environments. Over all Conclusion: These rounds have great practical application for police departments. They give departments and Swat Teams choices for interdicting different targets. With the use of these rounds officers are no longer stuck using one round for all situations, but can adapt and interdict with the appropriate round for the given circumstances. T50 Long Range Match bullet (right). The 750 gr. bullet was designed specifically for use in the Barrett M82A1 semi-auto rifle for reliable feeding. The 773 gr. bullet would be the better choice for bolt-action rifles.

15 .224 cal. 25 gr. Close Quarters Entry Round Weapon used was same as above. Accuracy: We fired several 3 round groups from 50 yards and found the rounds grouped consistently sub-inch. Groups ranged in size from.64 in to.85 in. We felt the accuracy was good for the intended purpose of the round as a training round. We also felt that this was the max distance you would want to deploy this round from because of the light weight bullet and the purpose it was designed for. Penetration: This round is designed for close quarters limited penetration situations. We tested the round from 50 yards, 25 yards and 7 yards shooting into pigs heads, level 2 body armor, cabbage, and mannequins with clothing on. The round performed as hoped in all situations. It carries maximum energy into the target and appears to be extremely lethal yet does not over penetrate soft targets. We were impressed that it penetrated clothing, body armor, and still carried the energy through the target but did not penetrate the walls placed behind the targets. Draw Backs: Under penetration of harder targets. If used as intended in close quarters situations on soft targets (people) this round has no draw backs. Conclusion: This is a very good round for entry teams making entry into sites where they will engage hostile subjects at close range. When multiple entries are made into the same location, the threat of over penetration from room to room is greatly minimized with the use of this round making it safer for teams when they do have to make entry and engage hostile subjects. This 6 x 6 x 16-inch FBI-spec. gel block (10% calibration) was shot with an HSM CQE Close Quarters Entry Round from a distance of 10 feet. Test weapon was an AR15 Match Target Competition HBAR (7" twist) w/ 20 inch barrel. Note the limited penetration (5.5 inches) but extreme width of the radial fractures -- nearly as wide as the gel block itself. The lead free CQE round is doing everything it was intended to do.

16 High-speed photo shows the HSM CQE round exiting a 6 x 6 x 2-inch thick section of FBI-spec. ballistic gelatin. At 3700 fps the CQE totally disintegrates in less than 2 inches, imparting high shock and promoting extreme hemorrhage. The CQE was designed to stop fights -- while providing a margin of safety in the process. High-speed photo (1-2,000,000 th -second flash duration) shows HSM CQE round exiting two, 6 x 6 sheets of wallboard (fixture provides FBI test spacing, simulating an interior wall). The CQE bullet totally disintegrates on impact with building materials, thus avoiding injury to fellow officers and civilians.
