During 2014, textile production in the EU increased but clothing production declined to its lowest level in several years. Exports of textiles and clothing to countries outside the EU increased in value and volume, and there was an increase in EU textile and clothing imports. Also, there were increases in the average prices of clothing imports from 14 of the leading 20 clothing supplying countries. However, there were declines in the average prices of textile imports from 13 of the leading 20 supplying countries.
