2 library Family Planning NSW has an extensive Disability Resource Collection available for loan to community members, disability workers, clinicians and students. In this brochure you will find a selection of our most popular resources. For a full list of our resources visit our website or make an appointment to visit the library. These resources are highly regarded, written in simple English and targeted towards people with intellectual disability. The resources ensure that people with intellectual disability understand and are supported when it comes to their reproductive and sexual health. Every Body Needs to Know $ Family Planning Queensland: 2010 For educators who are developing programs about reproductive and sexual health for people with disability. This kit consists of a manual and more than 270 picture cards with line drawings of people and situations relevant to teaching about reproductive and sexual health. The manual has 38 lesson plans and covers topics including puberty, relationships, being safe, and sexual health checks. Taking Care of Myself $49.50 Mary Wrobel: 2003 ISBN Through a combination of social stories and easy-to-understand activities this book offers a curriculum that guides both the child and caregiver on issues of health, hygiene, and the challenges of puberty. Teach-A-Bodies dolls are a set of soft dolls made of washable polyester knit and stuffing. The set consists of a male adult, female adult, male child and female child doll. All dolls are made with individual fingers and ears and have mouth, vaginal and anal openings.

Jason s Private World / Kylie s Private World $55.00 each Life Support Productions: 2011/2012 ISBN / Animated DVDs for carers to watch with people who have learning difficulties. Two characters, Kylie and Jason, discuss aspects of growing up, puberty, body changes, privacy and personal hygiene. These programs also delve into relationships, love, trust and sexual interactions. All have an emphasis on safety and saying no to unwanted sexual advances.

Feeling Sexy Feeling Safe - A training package for teaching sexuality education to people with intellectual disabilities FPA Health (Family Planning NSW): 2002 A DVD and workbook which cover four areas: public and private parts of the body; public and private places; saying yes and no to sex; the sexual person. This DVD is R rated and intended for adults aged 18 and over in sessions run by trained educators.
13 Tara Grows Up IHC, NZ: 2010 A short film about puberty for girls before they have their first period. The DVD includes basic information about menstruation and demonstrations of how to use sanitary pads. Billy Grows Up IHC, NZ: 2010 This short film about puberty is designed for boys approaching puberty. The DVD includes basic information about physical changes in the body, changes in emotions and general hygiene. Untold Desires $150 Video Education Australasia: 1994 This DVD highlights the struggle that people with disability face in their quest to be recognised as sexual beings. In Untold Desires people with disability speak about issues which are important to them: choice, privacy, the right to have sexual relationships and the right to have children. Feel Safe (CD ROM) Family Planning Queensland 2006 An educational CD following the stories of six young people (aged 12-16) who learn valuable self-protection skills. The six stories contain nine games that teach self-protection in a fun and interactive way.

We are experts on contraception, pregnancy options, sexually transmissible infections (STIs), sexuality and sexual function, menstruation, menopause, common gynaecological and vaginal problems, cervical screening, breast awareness and men s sexual health.
