American Elite Martial Arts Ages 4+ Fee: $7.00 per session Day: Wednesdays Time: 6:00-8:00pm (1 hr class) March 4th Ongoing American Elite Martial Arts provides participants as young as 4 years old an opportunity to learn self-control, integrity, respect, confidence through martial arts. Sensei Jarrod holds three black belts, and has taught classes and competed in tournaments around the Carolina s. Registration is $10 and includes a T-shirt, and weekly classes are only $7.00! Registration will be in Ray s Splash Planet Gymnasium on February 25th from 6:00-8:00pm or call for more information. Class begins March 4th! Sponge Painting Ages 2 years to 6 years Children have the opportunity to paint with various sponges and objects while they explore the world of art! Please dress appropriately for painting activities. This program includes an hour and a half of swimming after the program concludes from 1:30 p.m. 3:00 p.m. Please be sure to bring swim wear and a towel! Public lottery will be conducted for all pre-registered participants. Personal Training and Group Fitness Classes It s never too early to start prepping for summer! Come on in and join a class or sign up for personal training from one of our certified instructors. Ray s Splash Planet Open Gym Join us at Rays for open gym! Dates and times vary, so please contact us at for upcoming dates. Multiple Family Days (9 & up) and Adult Gym (16 and up) will be offered, so come on out and get ready for basketball season, or prove that you ve still got it! ID required to play. Fee: $2.00 per person for ages 18+ Under Water Easter Egg Hunt Join Ray s Splash Planet for their annual Easter Egg Hunt in the water! Kids can jump in and hunt as many eggs as possible in the shallow water. Admission includes swimming. Fee: Standard Admission will Apply. The aquatic center opened in 1991 as the area s only 50M indoor pool. The project was approved in the 2008 bond. Proposed renovations include: renovate and expand lobby, renovate and expand fitness area, new family locker rooms, renovate existing men s and women s locker rooms, new bleachers, renovate 50M and warm pools which include new deck and finishes, new trench drain, new filtration system, new pool surfaces and flooring, new diving boards and starting blocks, new bulkheads in 50M pool, upgraded gutter system. The core competencies are the building blocks of swimming. All lead-up skills, activities, and benchmarks in each stage focus on the core competency. Each stage has two benchmarks to achieve: a safety and swim skill benchmark. StarBabies & StarTots Parent or Guardian with child 6 months mos. The purpose of this course is to develop in very young children a high comfort level in the water while at the same time training parents in water safety and drowning prevention. This course does not teach children to become accomplished swimmers or survive in the water; it does provide a confidence building, fun, loving experience. One parent or guardian must be in the water with each child. Swim diapers required, along with plastic pants recommended and a lined swim suit. Starfish Swim School PreSchool / Elementary / Primary and Teen / Adult Ages 6-adults years. Students work toward development of the five core swimming competencies and receive color level stars for each achievement. The color levels are used to divide students into broad ability groups. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a Starfish Aquatics Institute Lifeguard license (STARGUARD) and the opportunity to become a member of one of the finest aquatic staff in North Carolina! Includes your books, fanny pack and guard license. Eligible reciprocal/crossover agencies include but are not limited to American Red Cross, Ellis, and YMCA.
