1 Saint Francis Medical Center Dress Code Our goal is to project a house-wide, professional, healing environment with a focus on the patient. This includes making it easier for patients, family and physicians to identify their care-givers throughout the hospital. Outlined below is a listing of the department requirements. If you have further questions, please contact your department director/manager/supervisor. The entire Appearance and Grooming Policy is located on the SFMC Intranet under Human Resources Policies. Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center Chemical Dependency Techs Khaki pants and a solid color polo shirt in navy, dark green, or white, tennis shoes or closed toe shoes. Cardiology Services Black scrub tops, black scrub bottoms, black lab jacket with plain white t-shirt or plain black t-shift (optional) Central Supply Black Cherokee ladies Cargo Pant, or Men s utility pant, with a Red Cherokee button up tunic top. Daycare Khaki colored pants/capris (no jeans) and any solid colored polo shirt. Environmental Services These uniforms are to be purchased at Uniforms and More Housekeeper I Housekeeper II Maroon tops - black pants Maroon tops black pants Healthcare Laundry Services Plant Staff Rest of Staff Scrubs provided by HLS Blue work pants; see supervisor for specifics.

3 Pathology Phlebotomist and Med Techs Red top with grey bottoms. White is the only color of shirt allowed to be worn under the red scrub top. A person may choose to wear a white shirt with a buttoned red scrub jacket instead of a red scrub shirt. A white lab jacket for "clean" areas of the hospital is optional for either choice of scrubs or dress clothes. Shoes need to be clean and not worn-out in appearance. Open toed/sandal allowed in non-patient care areas per department discretion, with socks or nylons. Solid top Croc's will be allowed in white, black or navy blue only. Earrings are limited to no more than two earrings per ear; earrings are to be of moderate size. Male employees attire: Clothing not allowed: Coordinated slacks and shirts/sweaters Tie (not required with sweater or exceptions below) Dress shoes Exceptions are turtleneck/mandarin collars may be worn with a suit or sport coat in lieu of shirt and tie. 5 Other Cosmetics Hairstyles Should be used in moderation. Strong perfumes/scented lotions/cologne are to be avoided since patients and fellow employees may be sensitive to fragrances. Employees with long hair who have contact with patients should wear their hair so that it does not interfere with performance of duties. Hairstyle and color should be clean, controlled and non-distracting. Extreme hairstyles and colors are not acceptable. Jewelry/Accessories Name Tags Jewelry may be worn in moderate manner and must not present a safety hazard to the employee or patients, nor interfere with job duties and/or the delivery of patient care. Visible body piercing jewelry is limited to the ears. A total of two earrings per ear may be worn. Nose piercings will be removed during work hours, covering it with bandaid will not be acceptable. All employees should be conservative in their choice of jewelry and accessories. In most areas, uniformed employees can wear rings, watches, professional pins, and earrings. Tattoos deemed as inappropriate, vulgar or obscene must be covered while at work. Name tags must be worn by all employees while on duty unless there are job-related reasons for not doing so. All employees are expected to wear their name tag in public areas, i.e., hallways, cafeteria, meetings, etc. Name tags will be worn on the upper chest fully visible to all. Nothing may be worn on the name badge nor the name badge plastic sleeve (i.e. sticker, pins, etc). Lanyards are acceptable only if the badge remains visible on the upper chest.
