1 Quick Start Guide SuccessNet Plus Plus SuccessNet

2 Home Page Orientation To add additional Pearson Products to your Products and Classes channel, click the Add Product and Create Class buttons across the top. To quickly access your Table of Contents, click Pearson Content. To access your personal and customized content, click Custom Content. Details & Support takes you to Community Connection, your hub for product support and frequently asked questions. Each class appears in a gray class banner underneath the product banner. Click Coursework to manage class assignments. Manage grades and run reports in Student Performance. Update your class roster in Enrollments. Home Page Orientation Page 2

3 Select a Product To add a Pearson product to your Products and Classes channel, click Add Product. In the Select Product window, select a product. Then, click Add Product. Select a Product Page 3

4 Create Your Class Click Create Class to begin the class creation process. Step 1 Class Information Type the Class Name. The name you enter appears to everyone enrolled in the class. Click Next to go to the next step. Create Your Class Page 4

5 Create Your Class Step 2 Choose Products & Courses Custom products or courses provided by your organization: This is available if your organization has created custom courses. Pearson products or courses: This is available if your school has licensed content from Pearson. Choose later: You can add a product after you finish creating the class. Click Next to go to the next step. Choose the product you want to use for the class. Click Next to go to the next step. Create Your Class Page 5

6 Create Your Class Step 3 Enrollments *The template for importing a roster of students is available from a link on the screen when you choose Import Students. Click Create New and select Enroll from School to search for student and teacher names on the school roster and add them to your class. If the student, aide, or teacher is not on the school roster, click the type of user to create an account. To upload and create student accounts from a.xls or.csv file, click Import Students *. Click Next to go to the next step. Note: Always check your school roster before creating new student or teacher accounts to avoid creating duplicate users. Create Your Class Page 6

7 Create Your Class Step 4 Confirmation Check your School, Class Name, Product, and Class Roster for accuracy. Select Finish, or go Back to make changes. After you click Finish, your class appears on your home page. Note: This process may take a few minutes. Create Your Class Page 7

8 Set Up Your Calendar Be sure to create your classes before setting up your calendar. From the home page, click Pearson Content. Step 1 Open Your Calendar Next, click Calendar. Then click Calendar Setup. Set Up Your Calendar Page 8

9 Set Up Your Calendar In the Schedule section, click Add Class to add a class, select the product, and set the color, order, and days of the week. Step 2 Complete Calendar Setup You can also add Blockout Days, which are days where there is no instruction, such as inservice days and holidays. Scroll down to choose your default calendar view. Click Finish to display your classes on the calendar. After initial setup, click Calendar Setup to add new classes, add additional blockout days, or change your favorite view. 10 Finding Content From the home page, click Pearson Content. Your Content page shows the List view by default. Click Calendar to change to the calendar view. Choose to view Pearson or Custom Content. VIEwing CONtENt Choose Student or Teacher Resources, or view All. Filter by Skill, Standard, Content type, or Topic. Search for materials by keyword. Move your pointer to a title to display the down arrow. Click the down arrow to open the Options menu. Choose Preview to display the content for class instruction. You can also assign and customize the content. Finding Content Page 10

11 Assigning Content Select Calendar. From the Content drop-down menu, select Pearson or Custom Content to display the item you wish to assign. Step 1 Selecting an Item You can also drag and drop items to your class to assign them. Move your pointer over the title of the item you wish to assign to display the down arrow. Click the down arrow to open the Options menu and select Assign. Assigning Content Page 11

12 Assigning Content Select one or more classes that should receive the assignment. Step 2 Assignment Options Assign a due date by clicking the date on the calendar and setting the time, or select No Due Date. Use Advanced Assign to assign items with different due dates for each class or to select students in each class. After making your selections for each option, click Save and Assign. The assignment now appears on each students To Do list and on your Calendar. Assigning Content Page 12

13 Schedule Lesson Plans Select Calendar. Click Pearson for Pearson lesson plans or Custom to schedule lesson plans you modified or created. Step 1 Selecting a Lesson Plan You can schedule lesson plans for any class period. More than one lesson plan can be scheduled for a single period. You can schedule lesson plans individually or multiple plans at once. You can also drag and drop lesson plans to the Scheduled Resources box. You can also click the down arrow to open the Options menu and select Schedule *. *If you schedule a folder, you will schedule all lesson plans in the folder, including lesson plans in any subfolders. 14 Schedule Lesson Plans Select the classes in which you want to use the lesson plan. Select either: One Lesson Plan each day: A separate lesson plan is scheduled for each class period. Any blockout days that occur in the sequence are skipped. All resources on one day: All selected lesson plans are scheduled on a selected day for each class period. Step 2 Setting Options Select the date on which the lesson plan will be scheduled. To schedule a series of lesson plans with one plan per day, select the day to schedule the first plan. Click Schedule. The lesson plan icon will be displayed on the one or more days for each class period selected. Schedule Lesson Plans Page 14

15 Use Your Gradebook From your teacher home page, click on Student Performance. OPENINg gradebook OR Click the class name, and then the Gradebook tab. Use Your Gradebook Page 15

16 Use Your Gradebook Gradebook Roadmap 1 Assignments appear in columns. 2 Students are listed in rows Study Plans and Lessons that include multiple activities are listed under content. 4 Move Column enables you to reorder columns. 5 Dashed lines mean the activity has not been started or submitted Advanced Filters View grades for specific students or types of assignments.
