1 INTRODUCTION S.A. TAI CHI AUTHORITY In year 2011, the centre is introducing an Instructor Training Course & Assessment for experienced Tai Chi practitioners and teachers leading to certification from our centre as an approved Tai Chi Instructor. The potential instructors will study and train to teach the Tai Chi Foundation Exercises, such as: Warm Up Silk Reeling Energy Exercise Qigong Breathing Exercise Tai Chi 48 Form Tai Chi 13 Short Form, 40 Form or the 83 Form with Weapons Push Hands On completion, the potential instructor becomes eligible to take an assessment for the certificate and will be awarded an appropriate level of instructorship upon completion of the assessment. COURSE DURATION Course will be held over a two day period, but please note that it requires preparation work in advance. Potential candidates need to register in advance in order to receive the training package which needs to be studied prior to the course. Candidates will be required to attend some of the relevant classes that will be organised by the centre. Candidate will need to train a minimum of four hours a week in order to be accepted for the course. Should you be unsure if you are a potential candidate, please do not hesitate to contact Shi-fu A.K. Baynes to discuss your suitability prior to your enrolment.

2 TRAINING COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENT AND STANDARD The requirements below are only a guide and the final decision will be made by Shi-fu A.K. Baynes upon receipt of application form. Trained in the basic stances of 13 steps Taken part in competition and tournaments by either being a competitor or referee Shown a level of competence Understanding the fundamentals of Tai Chi Relevant experience, skills or an instructor with other martial arts or exercises such as Yoga, Laugar, Shaolin Kung fu etc will be taken into account for acceptance into the course. APPLICATION FORM The application form for the course will be found at the end of the document, please complete and return to Shi-fu A.K. Baynes with the relevant course fees. COURSE FEES AND PAYMENT INFORMATION COURSE FEES: Grade D (Beginners) R per course p/p Grade C- B (Intermediate) R per course p/p Grade A (Advanced) R per course p/p Participants that do not pass the assessment successfully, may come for a re-assessment in three months time or may take part in the next instructors course free of charge. PAYMENT METHODS: 50% Deposit to be paid on registration and balance one week before course commends. Full payment on registration less 10% discount Please note that the deposit will be forfeited upon cancellation or non-attendance, unless the course is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
