2 STEP 3 EVALUATE, REMOVE, REDUCE AND PROTECT FROM RISK Likelihood of a fire starting Sparks from open fire could cause fire. Evaluate the risk to people LPG cylinder could increase severity of fire. Flammable liquids, if not kept in secure storage, could be used to start a fire. Cardboard boxes stored within staircase (ground floor) partially blocking exit. Maintenance of safety measure (for further guidance see Appendix A of relevant Risk Assessment guide) Fire alarm not being routinely checked. Several fire doors require Fire door- keep shut signs. Self closer on door of first floor bedroom has been removed. Fire exit sign needed at first floor corridor level. Fire extinguishers not wall mounted or positioned adjacent to storey exits. Recording information and keeping records Carry out and record weekly fire alarm tests.
