The following suggested broad themes link with those in the set Shakespeare plays, so that teachers may choose to make a link with the next area of study: prejudice; ambition and the exercise of power; growing up and the experience of adolescence; love, marriage and family relationships. Study the differences between spoken and written language to inform the analysis. Shakespeare play with a focus on plot and dramatic structure; the presentation of characters, themes and in the context in which it was written.
