2 Lodge Grass 1 Headworks Project Description: The Lodge Grass 1 Headworks (Maximo ID AD21756 and AD22096) is located approximately 5 miles south of Lodge Grass, MT. Before rehabilitation, ditchriders operating the system had to wade across Lodge Grass Creek to place wooden stoplogs across the Diversion Dam in order to provide a checked water surface high enough to divert water into the Lodge Grass 1 Canal. This posed major safety and operational problems. The project was constructed due to the poor condition of the structure and the hazards associated with operating the structure. The project consisted of rehabilitation of the existing Headworks, and generally consisted of repairing concrete on the Headworks and the installation of a galvanized steel walkway. The work consisted of the following items: 1. Construction of a cofferdam and dewatering in Lodge Grass Creek. 2. Removal of the deteriorated concrete on the Headworks. 3. Placement of new concrete for the headwall and for the walkway supports. 4. Installation of a galvanized steel walkway across Lodge Grass Creek. 5. Site grading and seeding. Total Project Cost (including design and oversite): $84, Project Timeline: Project Start Date: December 2012 Project Completion Date: May 2013 Pictures: See below. 2

7 Lodge Grass 2 Headworks Project Narrative: The Lodge Grass 2 Headworks (Maximo ID AD21774) is located approximately 10 miles south of Lodge Grass, MT. Before rehabilitation, ditchriders operating the system had to wade across Lodge Grass Creek to place wooden stoplogs across the Diversion Dam in order to provide a checked water surface high enough to divert water into the Lodge Grass 2 Canal. 12 High Check O&M Road Project Narrative: The High Check O&M Road (Maximo ID AD2634) is located approximately 5 miles southwest of St. Xavier, MT. Prior to construction, the water surface in the canal was within one foot of the top of the road along certain reaches of the road, and during wet conditions the O&M road was impassable with vehicles. The project was constructed to provide all-weather access to the High Check and High Drop structures and help facilitate construction for future projects. Replacement of the High Check and High Drop structures is planned for The project generally consisted of raising the road along certain reaches and placing gravel surfacing on the road. The work consisted of the following items: 1. Raising the canal bank one to three feet. 2. Compaction of a14-foot wide subgrade. 3. Place and compact gravel surfacing. 19 Pryor Wasteway Project Narrative: The Pryor Wasteway (Maximo ID AD21554) is located just south of Pryor, MT. Before improvements, the wasteway consisted of a concrete structure with a missing slide gate. A small berm was the only structure preventing water from flowing into Pryor via the old Pryor Ditch No. 1 (abandoned) and causing potential flooding. In addition, excess irrigation water and runoff was conveyed through the BIA highway ditch, and in the process, resulting in significant erosion in the ditch. This also posed a safety hazard for traffic along the highway. The project was constructed to address existing erosion, safety, and flooding concerns. The project consisted of the construction of a new reinforced concrete pipe wasteway, equipped with a reinforced concrete inlet and outlet structure. The work consisted of the following items: 1. Concrete inlet structure construction. 2. Construction of reinforced concrete pipeline (wasteway). 3. Concrete outlet structure construction. 4. Placement of riprap for erosion control. 5. Installation of a shear gate. 6. Installation of galvanized metal trashrack and structure cover. 7. Site grading and seeding. 26 Soap Creek Wasteway Project Narrative: The Soap Creek Wasteway (Maximo ID AD22143) is located approximately three miles south of St. Xavier, MT. Before improvements, excess irrigation water had eroded around the outlet structure, and erosion was headcutting back towards the inlet structure. Over time, if not addressed, this would lead to a complete failure of the inlets structure. The inlet to the wasteway was also in poor condition. The project, when completed, will address existing erosion and structural concerns associated with the existing wasteway. The project consists of the replacement of the Soap Creek Wasteway with a new reinforced concrete pipe wasteway, equipped with a reinforced concrete inlet and outlet structure. The work, when completed, will consist of the following items: 1. Concrete inlet structure construction. 2. Construction of reinforced concrete pipeline (wasteway). 3. Concrete outlet structure construction. 4. Concrete turnout outlet structure construction. 5. Placement of riprap for erosion control. 6. Installation of slide gates. 7. Installation of a shear gate. 8. Installation of galvanized metal trashrack, structure covers, and handrails. 9. Site grading and seeding.
