Baby Miss ~ 0-11 months (short dress) Wee Miss~ 1-2 years (short dress) Tiny Miss ~ 3 4 years (short or long dress) Little Miss ~5 6 years (floor length dress) Petite Miss~ 7 8 years (floor length dress) Young Miss~ 9 10 years (floor length dress) Junior Miss ~11 12 years (floor length dress) Teen Miss ~13 15 years (floor length dress) Miss ~16-19 years (floor length dress) Will add a Mrs/Ms division Ages 18 & up (married, divorced or widow) with interest Will add a Senior division (ages 55 & up married, divorced, or widow) with interest People s Choice Miss Big Red Apple Festival Princess (any age can participate)

2 PRIZES: All non-placing contestants will receive a specially designed Miss Cornelia BRAF Trophy or Medallion. There will be 3 prizes awarded per age group ; Queen, 1 st Runner up, 2 nd Runner up. Queens will receive a custom crown, custom sash with official BRAF logo, Trophy and flowers. Queens will need to attend the official Big Red Apple Festival on Oct 8 for fun and festivities. Alternates will receive a trophy. More prizes to be added. *Scholarship for our Miss Cornelia Big Red Apple Festival Pageant Queen The future belongs to those who BELIEVE in the beauty of their dreams Eleanor Roosevelt We are excited to offer this opportunity to the Contestants in the Miss Division A $500 scholarship awarded to the winner in the Miss division (ages yrs) to the College/Technical College of her choice if there are 12 or more to compete in this division. If there are less than 12 the pageant director and the MGNSA board will determine the amount awarded to the winner. PEOPLE S CHOICE- Miss Big Red Apple Festival Princess There are no tickets to sell; a dollar donation equals 1 vote, $100 equals 100 votes, etc. You can collect money in any way you like, suggestions are: local businesses, ask family and friends, etc. All Checks from businesses need to be payable to : Lisa Phillips. The deadline for receipt of People s Choice votes are September 30, Please plan to turn in collected money during rehearsal on September 30. If you have any new donations you can add to your total till intermission before crowning on Oct 1. Do listen for the announcement from the emcee for final people s choice donations. Please make all checks payable to Lisa Phillips, you can mail checks to my address or submit cash/checks at rehearsal for PEOPLE S CHOICE ONLY. Each People s Choice Queen will receive a custom crown, sash, flowers and a Large trophy, and will need to join the other 2016 MBRAF queens at the BRAF on October 8, for fun and festivities. We do double crown, this award only. You can win your age division and the People s Choice award. The People s Choice Queens will be crowned during the crowning for the winner s age division. Pageant Instructions The rehearsal and pageant will be held in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church at 325 South Oak Street Cornelia GA REHEARSAL TIME: 6:00-8:30 PM Rehearsal is not mandatory, but you are strongly encouraged to attend. At the pageant, no one will have time to show you where the dressing area is, where to line up, what to do, etc. and you will not be able to go on-stage to practice your walk. At rehearsal, you will be allowed one walk thru while your bio sheet is read. This will be the ONLY PRACTICE. There will be no Practice on Pageant day. Rehearsal times are as follows: Baby, Tiny, Wee, Little and Petite 6:00 7:15 pm Young, Pre-Teen, Teen, Miss and Ms. 7:15 8:30 pm

3 Someone should walk out with contestants in the Baby, Wee, and Tiny Miss divisions. If there are any Tiny Miss contestants who are comfortable walking alone they may do so, but a parent/guardian needs to remain on stage near the stairs. All other divisions will walk alone unless there is a special need. Please discuss this with me at rehearsal if needed. We will start with the youngest group promptly at the start time. Each group gets one walk through. After everyone has walked we will have a final line up for judging of the optionals. Once they are judged, you may exit the stage but, remain close for crowning. Please be there at the start time. Be patient and courteous while others rehearse. We will move though each contestant in a timely manner allowing each girl the time to understand what she needs to do yet getting to each age group as quickly as possible. CONTESTANT NUMBERS: They will be given out at check-in. For the pageant and are assigned based on receipt of application and entry fee. The first application in competes last in that division, the last application received competes first. At the pageant the contestant number goes on the right hip of the contestant or the person carrying younger contestants who are not able to walk yet. SCORING: ALL DIVISIONS BABY THRU MISS DIVISIONS Personality 1-10 Smiles easily, projects personality Presentation 1-10 Confident walk, good posture, good eye contact Appearance 1-10 Hair, make-up and dress appropriate, dress fit ATTIRE: The judges have a copy of the following criteria Dress Can be Sunday Best, does not have to be a pageant dress. The dress should fit properly, be age appropriate, and look good on the contestant. Ages 5 and older should wear floor length dresses; younger ages can wear any length. Dresses can be any color. Jewelry age appropriate and compliment the dress. Shoes with short dresses, white socks and close toed shoes are best. With long dresses, shoes that complement the dress, silver or clear foot shoes. Make-Up Age appropriate. This is not a GLAM/Glitz pageant. You do not have to have professional hair/make up for this pageant. Ages 0-35 months no makeup 3-6 years light powder to keep skin from shining and lip gloss 7 10 years light powder, light blush, light eye make-up and lip gloss. 11 and up Keep make-up classy and age appropriate. Hair can be completely natural or as elaborate as you are NO Hair pieces unless medical issue ( let me know at rehearsal if this applies to your child) NAILS- HANDS AND FEET- CLEAR OR FRENCH POLISH NO BRIGHT COLORS CHECK IN TIMES FOR THE PAGEANT You may check in early but do not check in late. The pageant will begin at 11:00 AM for all age divisions, Saturday OCTOBER 1, We will run one division right behind the other. We will not hold up the pageant for any contestant! DOORS WILL NOT OPEN TO THE FELLOWSHIP HALL UNTIL 10:45 AM

4 DIVISION CHECK-IN- BRING CASH FOR ADMISSION Baby TINY 10:30 AM LITTLE & PETITE 10:45 AM Pre-Teen MISS 12:00 PM Crowning order: Baby Miss immediately after final tally - Queen and her court remain on stage for a group photo Wee Miss immediately after final tally Queen and her court remain on stage for a group photo Tiny Miss- immediately after final tally Queen and her court remain onstage for a group photo Little Miss, Petite Miss immediately after final tally -Queen and court remain onstage for photo INTERMISSION TURN IN ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR PEOPLES CHOICE AT THIS TIME Young Miss, Junior Miss immediately after final tally- Queen and court remain onstage for photo Teen and Miss divisions both immediately after final tally- Queen and court remain onstage for photo * We need these photos for the paper * People s Choice Miss Big Red Apple Festival Princess will be crowned in the winners designated division. Please do not call the Pageant Director to ask exactly what time your division will go on stage. Family and friends should arrive at check in time. The time you go onstage depends on how many contestants we have registered this year. You may have a wait between check-in and competition. DO NOT LEAVE, stay available. You are welcome to wait in the auditorium. Please be considerate of those competing on stage as you go in and out. If you wait elsewhere, keep up with which group is competing and listen for your group to be called. We will not hold a division for a late contestant. DO NOT LEAVE once you have checked in and received your number. When lining up, please come down the aisle next to the wall on the left side of the stage. Do not come in front or behind of the judges table. Please inform family and friends to not crowd around the judges table or sit in the row of seats behind the judges table, there is tape across the seats for a reason. I will stop and hold the pageant while they are asked to move. Come with your hair and make-up already done. The dressing area is not large and many girls will be in there at the same time. Do not leave valuables unattended in the dressing room.

5 Optional Competitions You must register for Photogenic when you submit your pageant entry. You may enter up to 4 photos. Photos must be submitted at rehearsal. No refunds if you forget them. No frames or photos larger than 8x10. I suggest submitting them in a plastic page protector. The contestant s name, age, and division must be on the back of each photo or the photo will be excluded from judging. You must pick photos up at check in the day of the pageant. We are not responsible for photos left after the pageant. The Pageant Director, City of Cornelia, nor the First Baptist Church, is responsible for any injuries or losses incurred while competing in the Miss Cornelia Big Red Apple Festival Pageant. The judge s decisions are final. Please make sure the pageant does not conflict with other activities on your child s schedule. There are no refunds for schedule conflicts such as birthday parties, sports practices, meetings, etc... One parent is allowed into the pageant free with the contestant. Admission is for everyone except the contestant. BRING CASH no checks $5 for ages 12 & up Children 4-11 yrs $3.00, Ages 0-3 yrs are free NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL OR DRESSING ROOM NO SMOKING ON THE PREMISES ALLOWED PICK UP YOUR TRASH AND PLACE IN THE RECEPTICALS PROVIDED IF ITEMS ARE LEFT BEHIND THEY WILL BE TOSSED. PHOTOGRAPHER Will be available for photos. The Queen and her court must have a photo right after the crowning. Discounted packages will be available for purchase. Individual photos may be taken and purchased before or after your group competes. PHOTOS IN THE PAPER I will submit photos to the local paper shortly after I receive them from the photographer. They will run them according to their schedule, I cannot predict when they will post. The Miss Cornelia Big Red Apple Festival Pageant is to be a fun memorable experience for everyone.
