Product Description This harness cable assembly is designed to integrate the J&M Blu<>Hub custom dongle06, (dongle06 not included with this harness kit) to the stock audio system on all years of the Honda GL The J&M Bluetooth headset/dongle06 combination when used in this configuration will provide all of the standard functions of normal corded headsets on the GL-1800 audio system, but without the cord, including stereo music to the headsets, driver/passenger intercom, Honda CB radio (if so equipped) etc. Features of this dongle06 GL-1800 audio system integration include; No in-headset echo or sound delay when using the GL's driver/passenger intercom system. Rider and passenger can each simultaneously link their J&M Bluetooth headset to their own cell phone or Garmin Zumo, for private, in-helmet cell phone communications and/or nav commands. Passenger will be able to use their own music volume control that may already be installed ((Honda or J&M)), separate from the driver, and if this control is turned to minimum, passenger can also utilize their own portable music source. Dongle06 harness has input plugs included for the 4 various J&M radar detector harnesses (extra cost item), with the radar detector beep/brap heard only in the DRI- VER'S Bluetooth headset. The stock Honda corded headset connectors can still be used, when the dongle06 is integrated into the GL audio system. 2. Safety and General Information IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION. READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE USING YOUR DEVICE. Users are not permitted to make changes or modify the device in any way. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. 4 2. Position component terminal in the proper mounting position, inside fairing, under the left pocket, left side. Once you have established the correct mounting position, (making sure that the left fairing pocket can be reinstalled) clean the surface of this mounting area with denatured alcohol. 3. Remove the backing from the double-sided mounting tape and mount the integration component box. 6 Installing the Drivers Pairing/Linking Button Control Diagram B and C 1. Mount the drivers pairing button by first separating the two halves and installing the housing around the exposed handlebar left side, between the grip and switch housing. (Diagram B) 2. Route the wire alongside the stock wiring down the handlebar, under the ignition switch cover and into the left fairing pocket area, and plug it into the corresponding plug on the integration terminal. (Diagram C) Connecting to the Driver's Headset Lead/Radar Cable Diagram E 1. Locate the driver's headset lead cable under the left fairing pocket, unplug at the 6 pin connector, then plug the connectors from the integration component terminal in series with the driver's headset lead. (Diagram E) 2. If you will use the radar detector audio beep function, route and connect your radar detector harness at this time and plug it into the corresponding plugs on the integration terminal. (Diagram E) (Specific J&M radar detector harness is NOT included with this integration kit) Installing the Passenger & Extension Wiring Harness's Diagram A, B, D, E, and F 1. Using a 1" hole saw, drill a hole in the bottom of the left rear storage pocket, then reinstall the pocket. (Diagram F) 2. Route the long cable from the integration module, out of the front left pocket area, under the left fuel tank cover, and under the rear frame rails, into the inside left passenger pocket and plug into the Blu<>Hub dongle06. (Diagram E) 3. Route the 12 pin plug from the rear wiring harness, into the inside left passenger pocket and plug into the dongle06. (Diagram E) 4. Install the included split grommet around the wiring harness's and down into the 1" hole in the bottom of the left rear storage pocket. 5. Route the passenger pairing/linking button under the rear frame rails to the right side grab rail and secure with the Velcro straps. (Diagram D) 6. Route the passenger headset lead series connectors to a location under the center of the seat and plug in series with the passenger's headset lead. (Diagram D) Make sure to plug in on the correct side of the passenger volume control if installed. Diagram F 7. Route the passenger's optional stereo input (3.5mm stereo plug) to the right side grab rail area, where convenient for the passenger to use while riding. (Diagram D) 8. Route the power wire to the positive accessory post on the fuse block. Connect the ground wire to the frame. (Diagrams D & E) 5. General Operation Instructions 1. Refer to the operations manual included with the Blu<>Hub dongle06, for proper J&M Bluetooth headset pairing/linking scenarios. 2. Adjust system intercom volume on the GL-1800 to level "0". 3. Once linked to the dongle06, make helmet to helmet intercom volume adjustments individually on the driver and passenger J&M Bluetooth headsets using the up/down volume buttons. (see J&M Bluetooth headset manual) 4. Start out with intercom mute sensitivity on the GL system set to level "14" and adjust as desired. 5. Start out with stereo music volume on the GL-1800 system set to level "8" and adjust as desired. 6. Start out with CB radio audio volume on the GL-1800 system set to level "6" and adjust as desired. (If so equipped) 7. If the passenger is using a J&M passenger controller, part# PSCR-GL18, they can turn down/off the music/cb audio from the GL-1800 system, without affecting the driver to passenger intercom volume.

If the passenger elects to turn the audio from the GL system all the way off, using the J&M PSCR- GL18, the passenger can then plug in their own ipod/mp3 portable audio device, using the supplied 3.5mm plug. Stereo volume adjustments, for the passenger, in this scenario are to be made on the portable ipod/mp3 device itself, (not on the headset) and adjust this volume as desired. Installing the Driver and Passenger BlueTooth antennas 1. Clean the surfaces where the antennas will be mounted with denatured alcohol. (Diagrams A,B,D,E) 2. Remove the backing from the double-sided tape and mount the antennas. The antennas should be mounted so that the orange dot is facing up. Note: Antennas can be mounted under the plastic panels of the motorcycle, but should not be mounted under any metal. J&M Corporation Tucson, Arizona, U.S.A. 8 WARRANTY AND REPAIR INFORMATION TWO YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY In order to facilitate the servicing of this warranty, the Warranty Registration Form should be filled out and returned within 10 days of the date of purchase. However, return of the Warranty Registration Form is not a precondition of this warranty, and this Warranty will be observed by J&M CORPORATION whether or not the Warranty Registration Form is returned, on the condition that other satisfactory evidence of the date of the original purchase is provided to J&M CORPORATION. WHO PROVIDES THE WARRANTY? This warranty is provided by J&M CORPORATION. WHO IS PROTECTED? This warranty is extended only to the original owner of this J&M CORPORATION product and may not be transferred or assigned. WHAT IS COVERED AND HOW LONG? This warranty covers all defects in material or workmanship of our product for a period of 2 years from date of original retail purchase. At its option, J&M CORPORATION will repair or replace any defective part(s) or equipment. The provisions of the warranty shall not apply to any unit which has been subjected to misuse, neglect, incorrect mechanical or electrical installation, unauthorized modifications, accident, nor to units which have been repaired or altered outside of our factory. PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING PERFORMANCE OF WARRANTY In the event that the product does not conform to this warranty, the product should be shipped prepaid to the J&M CORPORATION service facility. Transportation charges, insurance fees, and labor costs for shipment, removal, or reinstallation of our product are not covered by this warranty. Loss or damage in shipment is the sole responsibility of the freight carrier. FOR YOUR INFORMATION Repair as provided under this warranty is the exclusive remedy of the consumer. J&M CORPORATION shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages or for breach of any express or implied warranty on this product. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose on this product is limited in duration to the duration of the warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. NON-WARRANTY REPAIR RATES J&M CORPORATION reserves the right to change the labor repair rates without prior notice.
