As a graduate in our National Graduate Program, we'll be working with you to ensure you get to benefit from working for one of Australia's greatest infrastructure contractors.

3 Year One Upon your selection to enter the National Graduate Program ( the Program ), we ll help prepare you for the journey ahead by inviting you to our Welcome Week. You may be required to travel so that you can meet all of the other first year graduates face-to-face, as well as your manager. This is a great opportunity to network with leaders from the business. Things kick off with your induction and orientation, where you ll get all the important information about how things work inside John Holland and on the Program. Some immersive development activities will soon follow, so that you can learn more about building relationships in a construction setting; whilst the virtual classroom ensures that you re in a safe learning environment. Your first year will also include peer group meetings, a mentor partnership and further professional development, all designed to support you as you rotate through different work experiences in our business. Year Two We ll continue to provide you with a range of technical skills development via your rotational phases, and more training and development opportunities. There will be more opportunities to network with your fellow graduates and you ll make your final presentation to senior management.

4 Are you looking for Graduates outside of the construction/engineering fields? Whilst our program is predominantly targeted towards construction/engineering graduates, a large part of our business operates within support functions such as Safety, Quality, Environment, HR, Business, Community and Stakeholder Relations etc. If you have studied any of these disciplines and are interested in working for John Holland, we encourage you to apply When do applications open? The John Holland National Graduate Program (NGP) only accepts applications via the John Holland website. Applications will open midyear, so please keep an eye on our website What is John Holland s graduate-recruitment process? Recruitment Process: 1. Submit an online application which includes answering questions, attaching your CV and academic results to date. 2. Complete required online testing. 3. Shortlisting will commence to progress successful 4. applicants to a phone interview. 5. Further shortlisting will occur to progress successful applicants to a face to face interview. 6. Once suitable applicants have been identified the due diligence process will commence which includes reference checks, medicals, proof of right to work in Australia. 7. Upon completion of all due diligence a Letter of Offer to commence employment will be extended to successful candidates.

5 How long does the John Holland graduate program go for? John Holland's National Graduate Program (NGP) has been designed as a structured two-year program. What kind of hours will I be working? Every development phase will differ for each graduate. Working hours will be dependent upon the development phase you are working in and requirements of the project or office. As an Engineer within our business you may be required to work weekends or nightshift your manager will discuss this requirement with you. What do you look for in a graduate? Strong consumer focus Flexibility Initiative Attention to detail Resilience Adaptability Actively participates in teams Effective time management Excellent interpersonal skills How Many positions do you have? John Holland recruits based on business and project needs. As such, forecasting resourcing requirements 12 months before starting a role can be difficult as the winning of work and projects can greatly vary the number of graduates required. Sometimes these needs are not known at the start of the recruitment process; however they will be confirmed as applications progress. If I am from New Zealand, what does this mean in terms of the process for me? The process is the same as for our Australian applicants. The program will initially be for opportunities in New Zealand only, however there will be potential for rotations in Australia.

6 Do I get to choose what project I work on? While your home location is taken into consideration, many of our projects are spread across diverse geographical locations and if our interstate and remote projects require graduates you will be asked to relocate. If a project comes up that you are very interested in working on you can advise us of your interest and we will try to accommodate this depending on project requirements. Do I have rotations? Yes. The John Holland National Graduate Program provides graduates with the opportunity to learn about and experience the way we do business. The purpose of rotations is to assist graduates in building their core capabilities and technical skills to support the diverse functions of the business. Rotations also provide you with the opportunity to meet and network with a wide range of people, increasing your connections within the business even further. Who do you class as a graduate? To be considered for the John Holland National Graduate Program you must have completed an Australian or New Zealand Undergraduate degree within three years of commencement of the National Graduate Program to ensure your studies remain contemporary with current business practices. If I am unsuccessful in my application for the Graduate Program this time, can I apply for the program again? Yes, applicants are eligible to apply for the John Holland National Graduate Program again the following year however you must have completed your studies within three years of the year of application.
