1 Rear Vision System Aftermarket Display 2007-Current Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban (Kit part numbers ) Kit Contents: Chassis Harness with RCA (Note: In some cases a RCA extension may be required to connect to your aftermarket display. Kit# 6111 can be purchased at Brandmotion.) 1 bubble bag containing Camera Mount with Camera and Camera Harness 1 bag containing: 12 Wire Ties 2 Well Nuts 2 Bolts 2 Small Phillips Screws ZTech (in a white bottle) 1 bag containing: 1 Template (along with these instructions) Tools Required: T30 Torx Driver 10mm and 28mm Sockets 10mm Open End Wrench Pick Push Pin Removal Tool Phillips and Flat Blade Screwdrivers Plastic Trim Removal Tool Transfer Punch 1/8 and 5/16 Drill Bits 3/4 Drill Bit, Center Hole Saw, or Sheet Metal Cutter Power Drill Deburring Tool Electrical Tape Note: We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date installation instructions. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Preparation 1. Ensure all lamps and accessories are OFF. 2. Ensure ignition switch is in the OFF position. 3. Loosen negative battery cable bolt. Remove negative battery cable from terminal and position away from battery. 4. Wait one (1) minute prior to working on the vehicle to assure airbag system has been disabled for your safety Instructions doc Page 1 of 10

2 Install Camera 5. Open liftgate and remove the pull strap from inside of the liftgate with a T30 Torx driver. (Figure 1) 8. Remove the liftgate button connector from the upper liftgate trim panel. (Figures 4 and 5) Figure 4 Figure 1 6. Remove the grab cup on the bottom of the liftgate using a T30 Torx driver. (Figure 2) Figure 5 Figure 2 7. Remove the upper liftgate trim by working your way from one end to the other and popping out the mounting pins with your hands. (Figure 3) 9. Remove pushpins from the rear window latch trim using a pick. 3 !"#$%&&%$!'"(!"#$)*+$!'"# Figure Remove wiper and disconnect washer fluid line from vehicle. (Figure 10) Figure Remove two nuts fastening the rear wiper motor to the liftgate using a 10mm open-end wrench and flat blade screwdriver. Disconnect wiper motor wiring harness by pulling the connector out of the motor with your fingers. (Figure 8) Figure Remove wiper motor exterior nut using a 28mm socket and then remove wiper motor from inside of liftgate. (Figure 11) Figure Close the liftgate and remove the wiper nut using a 10mm socket. (Figure 9) Figure Affix Camera Mount Template to the center square depression on the liftgate appliqué using masking tape. Use a transfer punch to transfer the center of the holes to the appliqué and remove Template. Note: The corners of the Template align with the corners of the depression. 4 16. Remove Template and drill three 1/8 pilot holes in the appliqué where the transfer marks were made. 17. Use a 3/4 center hole saw or sheet metal cutter to cut the hole in the center of the Camera Mount Template. (Figure 13) 23. Use a 3/4 drill bit, center hole saw, or sheet metal cutter to cut an opening in the liftgate. (Figure 16) Figure 16 Figure Apply supplied ZTech to the ¾ hole. (Figure 17) 18. Use a 5/16 drill bit to drill the remaining two holes on the Template. (Figure 14) Figure 17 Figure Use a deburring tool to clean holes. 20. Affix the Camera Harness Pass Through Template to the inside of the liftgate using masking tape. See Template for placement instructions. 21. Use a transfer punch to transfer the center of the hole to the sheet metal and remove the Template. 22. Drill a 1/8 pilot hole through the sheet metal where the transfer mark was made. (Figure 15) 25. Route connector end of the Camera Harness through the 3/4 hole in the appliqué then through the 3/4 hole in the sheet metal. RECOMMENDED: Use a small rubber grommet or dab of silicone caulk to protect Camera Harness from sharp metal edges (Figure 18) Figure 18 Figure Instructions doc Page 4 of Attach Camera Harness to Camera Mount using two supplied small Phillips Screws and a Phillips screwdriver. NOTE 1: Make certain the white O-ring (Figure 19) is on the Camera Harness end.

5 !"#$%&&%$!'"(!"#$)*+$!'"# NOTE 2: The Camera Harness end has a small alignment key that fits into a slot in the Camera; if the Camera Harness does not connect to the Camera, rotate the Harness end 180 and attach. (Figure 19). IMPORTANT: Do not use a power tool to install Screws or over tighten Screws as they could break and/ or damage to the Camera could result. (Figure 19) Install Chassis Harness 29. Remove liftgate sill plate by lifting at one end and working your way to the other with your hands to release the mounting clips. (Figure 21) Figure 21 Figure Insert supplied Well Nuts into the two 5/16 holes in the appliqué. (Figure 19a) Figure 19a 30. Remove the bolt cover on the driver s side D-pillar using a pick. Insert the pick into the gap between the bolt cover and D-pillar cover. Gently pry the bolt cover away from the D-pillar cover taking care not to damage trim. (Figure 22) Figure Bolt Camera Mount to the appliqué using two supplied Bolts and a Phillips screwdriver. (Figure 20) Figure Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove D-pillar cover bolt. 32. Remove headliner garnish by working your way from one end to the other and popping out the mounting pins with your hands. (Figure 23) Figure Instructions doc Page 5 of 10

6 33. Remove the D-pillar panel and unhook the speaker wire by pulling the connectors apart with your fingers. (Figure 24) Figure Remove both ends of the electrical bridge between the liftgate and rear of the vehicle. Route the RCA connector end of the supplied Chassis Harness through the bridge (Figure 27). Figure Remove the pushpin in the left side edge of the headliner. (Figure 25) Figure Route the supplied Chassis Harness down the D- pillar behind the trim. 38. Remove the driver s side third row seat. 39. Starting from the middle of the driver s side rear quarter trim panel, use a plastic trim tool to tuck the supplied chassis harness under the trim panel. Work towards the rear, then towards the front. (Figures 28 and 29) Figure Pull the trailing edge of the headliner down to route the Chassis Harness under the leading edge of the headliner and towards the driver s side D-pillar. 7 40. Remove the rear driver s side sill plate by lifting it at the front and working your way back with your hands to release the mounting clips. (Figure 30) Figure Remove the front driver s side sill plate by lifting it at the rear and working your way forward with your hands to release the mounting clips. (Figure 33) Figure Route supplied Chassis Harness behind the lower C- pillar trim using a plastic trim tool. (Figure 31) Figure Route the supplied Chassis Harness along the driver s side front sill plate. (Figure 34) Figure Route the Chassis Harness along the rear sill plate. (Figure 32) Figure 32 Connect Aftermarket/ NAV Display 46. If needed, install aftermarket display/ Navigation display as per instructions. 47. Remove driver s side dash cover by gently prying it away from dashboard using a pushpin removal tool taking care not to damage trim. 8 48. Remove front driver s side kick panel by lifting at bottom and working upwards to release mounting clips. (Figure 36) Figure 36 Figure Remove the M-BEC cover under the dashboard by popping it off with your hands. (Figure 37) Figure 40 Figure Have an assistant set parking brake, start vehicle, and shift into Reverse. Using a digital multimeter, check for reverse signal in Cavity 5 at the light gray C11 or X11 Connector OR Cavity 8 of C10 or X10 Connector in the M-BEC. (Figures 38, 39, and 40) Figure If reverse signal is NOT present: A. Check that bail securing the M-BEC connectors is fully locked in place. Repeat Step 50. B. If reverse signal is still not present, check the Fuse Block for any blown fuses (Figure 38). Replace any blown fuses and repeat Step 50. C. If reverse signal is still NOT present, proceed to Step Remove bolt running through the parking brake lever using a 10mm socket, and remove lever. (Figure 41) Figure Instructions doc Page 8 of 10

9 53. Remove two knee bolster screws using a Phillips screwdriver and remove knee bolster. (Figure 42) Figure 42 A. Connect green Reverse (+) wire of supplied Chassis Harness to wire in brown BCM X5 Connector Cavity 7. (Figure 44) Figure Remove the light gray C11 or X11 Connector or gray C10 or X10 Connector from the M-BEC (Figure 38) located in the bolster stud by pulling it out with your fingers. (Figure 40) 55. Splice green Reverse (+) wire from the supplied Chassis Harness to the wire in M-BEC C11 or X11 light gray connector Cavity 5 or to the wire in M- BEC C10 or X10 gray connector Cavity 8. (Figure 40) 56. Remove brown C12 or X12 Connector (Figure 43) from the M-BEC connector (Figures 38 and 39) located in the bolster stud by pulling it out with your fingers. Figure 43 B. Connect pink or red ignition (+) wire of supplied Chassis Harness to wire in brown BCM X5 Connector Cavity 13. (Figure 44) 60. Connect the Ground eyelet of the black wire from the supplied Chassis Harness to a solid ground on the vehicle chassis. The stud in the knee bolster is recommended. 61. Connect male RCA plug from the supplied Chassis Harness to the camera IN on the aftermarket display/ Navigation display. In some cases a RCA extension may be required. (Kit# 6111 can be purchased at Brandmotion for these cases.) Reinstall Vehicle Trim & Secure Harnesses 62. Reinstall wiper motor to the liftgate using the existing nuts, a 10mm open-end wrench, and flat blade screwdriver and then reconnect wiper motor wiring harness. 63. Reinstall wiper motor exterior nut using a 28mm socket. 64. Reinstall rear wiper with the existing nut using a 10mm socket and connect washer fluid line. 65. Connect supplied Camera Harness to supplied Chassis Harness. (Figure 45) Figure Splice red or pink Ignition (+) wire from the supplied Chassis Harness to the wire in brown M-BEC Connector C12 or X12 Cavity 7. (Figure 41) 58. Re-insert both connectors back into M-BEC. (Figure 38). Proceed to Step If all M-BEC connections are secure and no fuses are blown and reverse still is not present, reverse must be located in the under dash BCM left of the steering wheel. 10 !"#$%&&%$!'"(!"#$)*+$!'"# 66. Secure any excess Camera Harness and/ or Chassis Harness to washer fluid line or existing liftgate wires using supplied Wire Ties. 67. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Tighten the negative cable nut to 5 N"m (44 lb in). 68. Test system functionality. 69. Reinstall knee bolster using existing two screws and a Phillips screwdriver. 70. Reinstall parking brake lever using the existing bolt and a 10mm socket. 71. Reinstall end of dash cover by popping it into place with your hands. 72. Reinstall M-BEC electrical cover by popping it back into place with your hands. 73. Reinstall front kick panel by pressing it into place with your hands to reengage the mounting clips. 74. Reinstall front and rear sill plates by pressing into place with your hands to reengage mounting clips. 75. Coil any excess supplied Chassis Harness and secure to existing vehicle wiring using supplied Wire Ties. 76. Reconnect speaker wire in D-pillar and reinstall D- pillar cover. 77. Reinstall D-pillar cover screw using a Phillips screwdriver. 78. Reinstall D-pillar bolt cover. 79. Reinstall headliner garnish by working your way from one end to the other and popping mounting pins in with your hands. Note: Make sure liftgate weather stripping is sitting on the outside of the D- pillar cover, D-pillar trim, and headliner garnish. 80. Reinstall liftgate sill plate by setting it into place and pressing down on it to re-engage mounting clips. 81. Reinstall the liftgate button connector to the upper liftgate trim panel. 82. Reinstall lower liftgate trim by aligning it with liftgate and working your way from one end to the other popping the mounting pins in with your hands. 83. Reinstall upper liftgate trim by aligning it with liftgate and working your way from one end to the other popping the mounting pins in with your hands. 84. Reinstall pushpins from the rear window latch trim by pressing them into holes with your fingers. 85. Reinstall liftgate pull strap and grab cup on liftgate using the existing hardware and a T30 Torx driver. 86. Reinstall third row seat.
