7 Acuity Instructional Resources Over 3,000 K-12 interactive online exercises for customizing learning in ELA and Math by standards or skill groups. All are aligned to CCSS and feature both Common Core-specific and traditional activities that reinforce the pre-cursor skills needed for CCSS success Immediate information for teachers on how students are using the IRs: time spent by student and/or the score for IRs that contain quizzes. Assign to individual students or classes for customization of learning needs. Flexible delivery mode for independent, small group, or whole group instruction and learning Reports available Some tutorials are available in Printable PDF format 19 Types of Instructional Resources TYPES OF TUTORIALS: There are seven different types of instructional resources that vary based on the subject and standard/skill group chosen: Activities: There are three main types of Activities in Acuity: Game-Based Activities, Interactives, and IWB (Interactive Whiteboard) Exercises. Animated Tutorials: Animated Tutorials replicate the experience of a teacher walking a student through a problem or illustrating a new concept. The narration style is personal and engaging. Students can watch as many times as they need to learn the concept. After each personal tutor, students are presented with a 3-5 question quiz that encourages reflection and selfevaluation. Brain POP: Brain POP tutorials follow Tim and Moby (or Annie and Moby in Brain POP Jr.) as they answer questions on a variety of Math and ELA topics. Individual tutorials are often appropriate for a variety of grade levels 20 Types of Instructional Resources Free Explore: Free Explores are interactive tools that enable students to explore and review targeted math concepts in a low-stakes, unscored environment. Games: Games enable students to practice and review skills in fast, fun, and engaging environments. Since games are responsive to student interaction and require strategizing and risk-taking, each student experience with the content will vary. Interactive Labs: Interactive Labs combine real-life scenarios with scientific and mathematical learning to allow students to learn how mathematical and scientific concepts relate to the world around us. Tutorials: Standard Tutorials allow the student to experience a narrationtype experience of a teacher walking a student through a problem or illustrating a new concept.
