2 ENGRAVING All types of computerised and manual machine engraving is currently available utilising a host of materials including aluminium, brass, stainless steel, perspex, engraving plastic (traffolite) and most other metals and plastics. Letters, numerals and logos can be engraved onto an array of free issue products such as letterplates, control panels, switches etc. Infill colour can be supplied to match any BS or RAL reference. Special shapes and cutouts can be produced and for larger production runs, a laser cutting service is also available. Standard nameplates are priced by the letter and a chart can be found in the price list Almost any typeface can be engraved and shown overleaf, are a few examples of the most popular used:

3 Helvetica 1 Line and Helvetica Medium Explained... Helvetica 1 Line Helvetica Medium The difference is the stroke of the letter for Helvetica 1 Line is determined by the diameter of the cutter, leaving a rounded end to the letters. For Helvetica Medium, a smaller cutter is used to engrave the outline of the letter and then take-away the middle, hence this takes twice as long. Handy Hint: To estimate the length of a nameplate, multiply the height of the letter by the number of letters and spaces required. Don t forget to include a space at each end!

9 TACTILE & BRAILLE S I G N S All of our tactile and braille signs are manufactured with the guidance of the Royal National Institute for the Blind to ensure that they conform to the DDA Regulations Act We supply Grade 1 Braille for short word signs or Grade 2 Braille (which is a contracted form) for longer sentence signs. The system we use enables us to supply tactile and braille signs in any metal finish, such as aluminium, stainless steel or polished brass, as well as any colour plastic. 19 VINYL GRAPHICS A N D D I G I T A L P R I N T I N G VINYL GRAPHICS Almost any typeface or symbol can be vinyl cut quickly and economically to produce one-offs or small runs and can be applied to most surfaces with ease. Letters can be supplied pre-spaced with carrier film ready for customers own application. Frosted vinyl can be supplied in a variety of designs for application to glass doors and windows to give an acid etched appearance There is a wide range of colours available in both matt and gloss finish. A price per letter chart for standard block letters can be found in our price list. Specials available by quotation. DIGITAL PRINTING A new and rapidly expanding aspect of our business is large (and small) format full colour digital printing which is ideal for exhibitions, signs, banners and even outdoor signage and vehicle graphics. The Cadet uses hard wearing solvent based inks to print onto vinyl and also incorporates a cutting facility. This makes it perfect for printing labels, stickers and posters. It can produce large full colour graphics which can be cut to any shape and applied to a vehicle. The ability to produce high resolution prints onto vinyl means the graphics can then be applied to most surfaces, making this printer and the prints it produces extremely versatile.

20 SCREEN PRINTING Screen printing is available on most sheet metals, plastics and vinyls. We stock various ink systems in all the standard colours. Any colour can be matched to a BS or RAL number, or to a customers sample. This economical and versatile process can be used to print an array of free issue products providing the surface to be printed is flat, clean and dry. Sub-surface screen printing is available on various thicknesses and finishes of unsealed anodised aluminium. A very durable label can be produced when printed with the correct inks and sealed, as the print cannot be removed by rubbing or with solvents. This process is ideal for rating plates and labels for use on plant machinery or equipment. Our in-house artwork department includes a computer-aided design facility with access to thousands of standard logos, symbols and typefaces.
