2 Hope Street is part of Catholic Charities and is most well known for its youth homeless shelter. It is located inside of St. Joseph s Home for Children off of 46 th & Chicago. We also have a transitional living program for 8 young men on site and staff who do outreach. Some 2011FY Outcomes: 183 youth received emergency shelter 57% of the youth served were no longer homeless after leaving the shelter 73% of youth met on school outreach were relocated to safe, stable housing, or maintained current housing without experiencing a day of homelessness 72% of youth served were no longer homeless after leaving the transitional housing program 78% of youth in the transitional living program attended school full-time Our mission is to serve those most in need. We help individuals and families reach their full human potential as we call for justice in the community. 2

3 At-risk of losing their housing Imminently Losing Housing Literally Homeless Youth currently in housing, are experiencing housing instability, frequent moves, living in homes of others, being evicted from dwelling, living in hotel or motel and severe overcrowding. Most providers and many funders also consider couchhopping as homeless. Youth are currently housed and not literally homeless, but are imminently losing there housing, lack the resources or support to retain current housing Youth living in places not designed for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodations for human beings, including cars, parks, abandoned buildings, bus or trains stations, airport or camp grounds. 3
