Applicants with "All but Dissertation (ABD) will be considered, but if hired, a condition of employment will be for the faculty member to provide an official transcript with their terminal degree posted within one (1) year of appointment to the faculty at Howard Payne University. Job Summary - Conducts University courses for undergraduate and graduate students by instructing, assessing, and advising students and striving to fulfill the University's mission statement and the business department mission of preparing well-educated business professionals. The professor will teach a half load (12 16 credit hours in the fall and spring semester) of university courses for undergraduate and/or graduate students, including evening and Saturday classes, and serve on a 12 month contract as the Director of the HPU El Paso Center by performing the following duties. The detailed Job Description for this position is available at: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. The Department Head, Dean, or Provost may assign other duties. Professor: 1. Teaches one or more subjects under the proposed Master of Business Administration degree program. 2. Prepares and delivers lectures to students. 3. Compiles bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments. 4. Stimulates class discussions. 5. Compiles, administers, and grades examinations. 6. Directs research of other teachers or graduate students working for advanced academic degrees. 7. Performs related duties such as advising students on academic and vocational curricula. 8. Serves on faculty committee as assigned. 9. If a scheduled course does not make, additional responsibilities might include student recruitment, writing and/or research. 1

3 Director: 1. Manages staff personnel, including yearly annual performance reviews. 2. Coordinates with EP Center staff/faculty/assistant VP for Extended Programs to lay out strategic goals for each semester to include recruiting, marketing/advertising, increased academic programing, business/facility improvements, fundraising initiatives, and student development agendas. 3. Develops and manages annual EP Center overall budget. 4. Spends time in community relations activities (i.e., Chamber of Commerce events, associational and church programs, developing partnerships with area business and organizations, etc.). This would include developing a professional advisory council of leading El Paso community leaders who share the vision and mission of the HPU EP Center. 5. Creates the academic schedule each semester in coordination with the Office Manager, respective Dean s office, and the Assistant VP for Extended Programs. 6. Provides initial interviews and gives recommendations for additional faculty/adjunct faculty needs to respective Deans and the Assistant VP for Extended Programs. 7. Receives student complaints and/or concerns and coordinates with the Assistant VP for Extended Programs to address situations. Supervisory Responsibilities - Directly supervises four employees in the El Paso Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
