2 Organizations Supported by El Paso Electric in 2008 El Paso Electric actively participates in the community by supporting a diverse mix of civic and charitable programs in the Paso del Norte Region. EPE recognizes the importance of financial and in-kind contributions to civic and charitable organizations. Because many requests which are received each year far exceed available resources, EPE focuses its support on programs which: strengthen youth education in core academic skills prevent child abuse and domestic violence educate and train single parents for economic self-reliance promote the understanding of culture diversity and the appreciation of regional heritage 51 of 55
