2 Page 2 Camp Information Sandwich Public School s Summer Camps comply with Regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and are licensed by the Sandwich Board of Health. In order to participate in the Sandwich Public School Camps, all camp forms must be completed prior to the start of your child s camp. Unless otherwise stated only one set of forms per child is necessary and will cover all summer camp participation. Required forms: Emergency contact & release form; medical form copy of child s physical from their doctor within the last two years. Emergency Form can be found on our website: wwwsandwichk12.org. Camp Locations: Most camps will be held at Sandwich High School. All locations are noted on individual camp descriptions. Camp Hours: Most camps run 8:30-11:30 am. Check individual camp descriptions for hours. What to Bring... Snack and water NO NUTS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED. Remember the Sunscreen! What to Wear... Extend the camp day with the Summer Fun program at the School for Early Learning. The Summer Fun program is held at the Wing School. Keep the camp day going and join the fun for an afternoon of exciting activities including arts & crafts, science, nature, sports, games, cooking, barbecues, picnics, and water play. The program is led by experienced, degreed teachers with years of expertise. Parents must pick up their children at the Wing School (cafeteria) at 5:30pm After camp hours are 11:30-5:30 Campers in grades 2-6 may participate. Earlybird Special Sign up by June 1, 2015 and receive $10 off Excludes Specialty Camps Children should bring a lunch & afternoon snack daily. Children MUST be enrolled in a summer camp through the Sandwich Public School Camp Program in order to participate in this afternoon program. Children at the high school will be transported, children at the Wing School will be walked over to the Cafeteria. Extended Day Camp Registration is REQUIRED to participate. Registration must be done in conjunction with the morning camp. No camp July 3rd due to holiday! 3 Page 3 Acting for Stage & Screen Activity 7736 Have you ever wanted to act on stage, in film or commercials, but have no idea how to get started? Join Kevin Lasit in this introduction to on-camera and stage acting. You will learn about the audition process and perform several scenes. No experience is necessary, just a positive attitude to learn. All scenes will be videotaped and students will have the opportunity to watch their work. Parents will also be able to come to a presentation of the student's work on the last day of the camp. Kevin uses theatre games and improvisation to bring out a child's natural qualities and all material in the class is from actual commercials and theatre or film scenes. Many of Kevin's students can be seen in movies like The Fighter, The Town, Zoo Keeper, Shutter Island, TED, Grown Ups 1&2, America Hustle, Here Comes the Boom and the upcoming Johnny Depp film Black Mass. Our summer baseball clinics are designed to teach the fundamentals and proper training of the great game of baseball. Directed by Sandwich High School Varsity Head Coach, Brian Tomasini and members of his staff and team. The goal of the summer clinic is to provide every youngster with the other baseball players. Be sure to bring a snack, a water bottle, and a desire to work hard, improve and have fun! Register soon as these clinics are sure to fill up quickly. Campers will learn all the basics associated with the sport of field hockey. Beginners to advanced levels at various courses in the area including: Willowbend, Holly Ridge and Cotuit Highgrounds. Clubs are provided for students who do not have their own. Instructor Jim Rondeau is a Untied States Golf Teacher Federation Certified Instructor, Certified PGA coach. This camp runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 7 through August 6. This is a specialty camp, earlybird does not apply. Learn to Fish Grades 2-6 Activity 7706 Fish at one of Sandwich s most historic ponds. Camp will be held at the Grist Mill at Shame Pond. You will learn about the different fish at this location and realize how easy it is to reel in The Big One! Bait is provided.
