14 Summary Shift (Matt. 9:20-22; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8:43-48) An abrupt shift occurs, we leave the story of the sick girl to a woman with an issue of blood.

15 Summary (Matt. 9:20-22; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8:43-48) A woman who had a flow of blood for 12 years without the possibility of healing, heard about Jesus and came behind Him to touch the fringe (hem) of His garment

16 Summary (Matt. 9:20-22; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8:43-48) The woman had faith in touching His garment to become well and immediately became well (whole) Trembling, the women fell to her knees and told Him the truth and Jesus declared that her faith had made her whole and told her to go in peace

17 Summary Shift (Matt. 9:23-26; Mark 5:35-42; Luke 8:49-56) An abrupt shift occurs, we leave the story of the woman with an issue of blood back to the sick girl.

18 Summary (Matt. 9:23-26; Mark 5:35-42; Luke 8:49-56) While speaking to the woman, a messenger came from Jarius house with bad news Jesus arrives at the house and announces that Jarius daughter is not dead, but some disbelieved The noise of mourning was in the house and Jesus immediately ushered all outside except the father, mother and His disciples

Jesus took the child by the hand and called her by name Immediately the 12 year old child got up ( her spirit returned ) and walked The crowd and parents were amazed and were told not to tell anyone what had happened, but the report went throughout that district

22 Thought Even though we cannot perform miracles as Jesus did, we can treat people in the same way Jesus did.

23 How can we help? A next door neighbor with arthritis with no family members around. A young man who has a hearing disability and is made fun of. A young lady who is really sad and worried because her parents are divorcing. A person from a different country and language feeling alone.

24 Jesus Power Shows His sympathy for people in need Shows the narrowness of religious leaders Shows their negative reactions to what He does Shows their fear of loosing control over the people

25 What is Jesus Example for us? To have compassion To show mercy To serve others To love everyone

26 Conclusion Loving and serving others involves an element of risk. You might get your feelings hurt or be criticized by others for it. But it is worth it when you see people s needs met and they praise God for His help given through you. If we are called by God, we are commanded to care for others.
