2 INTRODUCTION Approximately 30,000 under-five deaths could be prevented by exclusive breastfeeding (UNICEF 2006). Kronborg and Vaeth 2009 found that observation of breastfeeding techniques can help mothers implement breastfeeding in the early days of birth. A study showed that 1 in 3 mothers still have the wrong breastfeeding technique skills (30.3%) (Sukmawati, Sarake, and Salmah 2014) Coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia was still far from the target. 3 OBJECTIVES To analyze qualitatively the practice of breastfeeding on infants 0-4 months in work area of Puskesmas (Health Center) Abadijaya Kecamatan (Sub-district) Sukmajaya Depok City in year 2016.

4 METHODOLOGY Design RAP (Rapid Assessment Procedure) Method FGD : 12 nursing mothers Observation : 12 nursing mothers In-depth Interview : 1 health worker Criteria of samples : 1) Nursing mothers of infants aged 0-4 months who give only breast milk to their babies. The babies are in a good health, not LBW (Low Birth Weight), do not have oral disorders, and not twins. 2) Health worker in nutrition field.

5 RESULTS Conditions of mothers and breast s mothers. All of mothers have a good general condition. The good condition of breast s mothers was supported by observations conducted while breastfeeding. Characteristics of nursing mothers. Mother's age ranged from years old, most mothers were senior high school graduates, and all mothers do not work. Breastfeeding Technique. Breastfeeding was given with different frequencies among the informants, most informants more frequent feeding in the morning and during the day but rarely at night. Generally, mothers breastfeed by using both right and left breast. Only a few nursing mothers using one breast. The majority of mothers breastfeed their babies by applying good breastfeeding techniques include positioning and sticking of the baby. Almost all of the mothers found some difficulties at the beginning of nursing. Some difficulties were about the size of a small nipple and immersed nipple, and how to hold the baby while breastfeeding.

6 Cont RESULTS Culture of feeding prelacteal to newborns. Almost all of the informants in this study did not have a culture of feeding prelacteal to newborns beside breast milk. Environment of mother s home. Most informants were living in a house with a quiet atmosphere, away from the noise. Ambience noise associated with the comfort of a place to make the process of breastfeeding. Family support. All of informants husband have an attitude to support their wife in breastfeeding on infants. Meanwhile, most of the parents or parents in-laws also support nursing mothers. Health worker support. Programs owned by Puskesmas Abadijaya to succeed the exclusive breastfeeding were breastfeeding counseling in public, breastfeeding counseling in health centers, and the establishment of breastfeeding support groups (KP ASI). Activities held by the health worker were educating pregnant women, mothers of infants and toddlers, and home visits, especially to infants with low birth weight (LBW). Nursing mothers obtained information related to breastfeeding from midwives, health worker s counseling, books of Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (Maternal and Child Health) and the internet.

7 CONCLUSION The majority of nursing mothers with infants 0-4 months in the work area of Puskesmas Abadijaya Kecamatan Sukmajaya Depok have implemented a good breastfeeding practice. It is supported by the good condition of mothers and breast s mothers, the right breastfeeding technique, no more culture of feeding prelacteal, the comfortable environment of mothers house, the family of nursing mothers support, and the health worker support.
