3 COMMITMENT TO SAFETY Electric Machinery believes the most important asset to our company is our employees and their personal safety. We will provide the proper safety training, personal protective equipment, and also provide the proper support to ensure that all employees return safely to their families.

4 Employee Safety Responsibilities Employees Should: Report all accidents immediately to supervisors, regardless of extent of injury or damage. Take part in safety activities, including inspections, training sessions, accident investigations or other related actions as appropriate. Obey all safety and health standards, rules and regulations and safe work practices. Use safety equipment or safety devices provided to employees for their protection. Practice good housekeeping by keeping workplaces clean and orderly. Report any unsafe condition to supervisors which cannot immediately be corrected by employee.

5 Employee Safety Responsibilities Cont Employees Should NOT: Remove, displace, damage, destroy, tamper or disengage any safety devices, safeguards, notices or warnings. Interfere with the use of any safety equipment or safeguard by others. Hide any accident or injury

6 Reporting Accidents/Injuries Report all accidents IMMEDIATELY to a Supervisor and/or Manager. Failure to report an accident/injury is subject to disciplinary action up to termination. EM has 0 (zero) tolerance for failure to report an accident/injury. Report any unsafe acts from your co-workers immediately before it becomes an accident.

7 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) ALL employees MUST wear the following PPE prior to entering the plant (NO EXCUSES) Safety Boots/Shoes Safety Glasses Ear Hearing Protection (Where Required)

8 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) cont PPE is used to reduce the hazard NOT to eliminate.

10 Personal Protective Equipment At no time should any Personal Protective Equipment be modified, altered, or disengaged; doing so will be terms for disciplinary action up to termination.

11 PPE Maintenance Make sure to maintain your PPE clean and secure When working with chemicals: gloves must be removed carefully without having skin contact to exterior of glove. Wash glasses with warm water and keep in dry place, store at room temperature. Re-usable ear plugs must be washed with warm water daily after use. Disposable ear plugs should be replaced daily.

12 Personal Hygiene/Clothing Requirements Uniforms are required for all employees working in the shop. No loose clothing or objects allow in the plant.

13 Fire Extinguishers

14 Emergency Evacuation Plan Prior to working at your station, look around and learn all the emergency exits and routes. Signs are posted throughout the facility to help guide you. If you use an extinguisher always report to your Supervisor. STAY CALM!!! Listen and obey all instructions from your Supervisor, Manager or Lead.

15 Drug and Alcohol Company Policy Electric Machinery is a Drug and Alcohol Free workplace. EM prohibits the use of any controlled substance and /or alcohol during working hours including any medication that may interfere with the employees ability to work safely, operate machinery or equipment. Illegal drug use is not allowed at all. EM reserves the right to send employees to the clinic for Drug and Alcohol testing if suspicious of use, post accident, or post incident. The employee will not be allowed to work until drug screen clearance is obtained. If an employee returns with a positive result, a return to work plan will be put in place.

17 SAFE LIFTING Means using your head! Use Your Head and Save Your Back! STAND close to the load Bend your knees - not your back! Get Help with heavy or awkward loads! Let your legs do the lifting Use the right tools!

18 Safe Lifting/Carrying the Load Hold the load close so you can see over it. Keep the load balanced. Avoid twisting the body Watch out for pinch points -- doorways, etc. Face the way you will be moving.

26 Blood borne Pathogens Hospital / Laboratory Waste is in a Red Bag Wear protective equipment, especially gloves & safety glasses Employee should have NO contact with blood or body fluids to avoid: Aids Hepatitis (Hep-B vaccines for designated persons) Sharps disposal

27 Blood borne Pathogens Motors Automation Energy Transmission & Distribution Coatings continued BBP Precautions Assume any injured person may be infected Wear gloves, leak proof shield or appropriate PPE Avoid getting blood or body fluids on your skin, especially your nose, eyes or mouth Immediately wash with soap and water Flush eyes with running water if they are splashed Remove and bag clothes spattered with blood.

29 SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY?? All employees are responsible for Safety. We are responsible for our own safety and that of our coworkers as well. Your Managers & Supervisors do not want or ask that you put yourself in harms way. We ask that you do not. Your Safety and Health REALLY IS our first priority. REMEMBER The machines are not your friends. They have no heart and no mind. Respect them, obey the rules, and LOTO.
