1 Rules for the First Inshore Tournament, Pesca, Playa y Ambiente. October 25 to the 26 at Tarpon Nest Lodge in Loiza, Puerto Rico! The following rules will be in effect throughout the tournament. The Tournament Committee will be in charge of interpretation and implementation of these rules. All participants must comply with the rules of the tournament and the DNER Fishing Regulation. Boats will have between 3 and 4 anglers each, subject to the manufacturer s specifications. If a boat needs more anglers for a complete team, it may include anglers from the official waiting list. 1. Registration will be $ per angler in boat and $80.00 per angler in kayak. Registration fee includes a T-shirt of the event, goodie bag from our sponsors, breakfast both days, lunch both days, and the right to participate in the other tournament activities. The Tournament profit will benefit PPA a Non-Profit Organization 2. The tournament directors reserve the right of admission to the tournament 3. All fish must be caught using rod and reel. The official line for the tournament will be 20 lbs. in spinning, with an 8 maximum length leader of up to 80 lbs. 4. For the category of fly fishing, rods of 8 wt and up may be used, leader of up to 20 lbs. and bite tippet of up to 80 lbs.

2 5. We will have the following categories: a. Professional- angler that has been a charter captain or who has worked as a fishing guide for the past 5 years within the Tournament boundaries. b. Amateur - Any angler that is not related with the fishing business or is a weekend warrior c. Ladies d. Children - Categories from 5 to 12 years. e. Kayak - Boat only operated with paddles. f. Kayaks with any type of engine will qualified as boats and may carry one or two anglers depending on manufacture specs. g. Fly - Rod and reel, 8 wt and up. 6. In the event of dangerous conditions, as determined by the organizing committee, the initiation of the tournament may be postponed or cancelled. In case of cancelation, an alternate date may be announced or the funds will be returned. 7. In the event of an accident or emergency, participants should call the designated number, 911, or VHS channel All participants will be responsible for the condition of their boat or kayak and that it complies with the laws and regulations of DNER and the US Coast Guard. 9. Responsible behavior is expected of every participant. This is a family event and the organizing committee reserves the right to remove any participant from the tournament that does not observe the rules, without returning the registration fee. 10. It is expected that every participant will use their best judgment concerning the weather conditions and possible hazards at the time of the tournament. 11. All participants, at the beginning of the tournament, must sign the waiver of liability that will be given upon registration. Any team or angler who refuses to sign the waiver will be disqualified, relinquishing their right to awards and other benefits of the tournament. 12. It is expected that all participants operate their boats and kayaks in a responsible manner, in accordance with the DNER boating regulations. In addition, they will be courteous with other boaters and anglers and observe manatee warning signs. If it is demonstrated that an operator has acted in a negligent manner toward another angler or boat, the team of that negligent boat may be

3 disqualified from the current tournament and participation in future PPA tournaments may be affected. 13. Neither the organizers of the tournament, PPA, nor the sponsors are responsible for damages, theft or other inconveniences caused to the boat, equipment or participants during the tournament. 14. Every participant must have a camera in good condition, with a blank card prior to the tournament. The organizing committee reserves the right to inspect the cards prior to beginning the tournament. 15. The smartphone app IAngler Tournament will be used during the tournament to document captures and these will be shared with our friends from the Snook Foundation. 16. The winners of the tournament biggest Snook qualify to receive an invitation to fish in a tournament in 2015 organized by the Snook Foundation. Fishing Rules: 17. There must be at least one angler from each team present in the orientation on conservation scheduled for Friday, October 24. This team member is responsible for informing the rest of his team about the rules and other information shared. 18. Any team that does not follow the tournament rules may be disqualified, forfeiting the registration fee. 19. The schedule for the tournament will be: Friday registration from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; tournament fishing on Saturday will be from 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. 20. Having a captain or assistant who is dedicated or was dedicated to tarpon fishing for the past 5 years automatically qualifies the team as professional, no matter the category. If there are children, amateurs or ladies on that team, the entire team will be considered professional 21. Any angler that decides to fish in the category of fly fishing must continue fishing in the tournament in that category. 22. All fish must be captured in the San José, Torrecillas, 4 Calles, and Cangrejos area, up to the area of the Piñones Bridge. No angler may exit to the beach area beyond Piñones Bridge.

4 23. In the event of hooking a fish inside the tournament jurisdiction and during the fight, the fish forces the angler to leave the tournament limits, a team member must inform the tournament organizers immediately. 24. In the event a fish is hooked before the end of that day s fishing period and the fight continues at the end of the fishing period, the organizers must be informed and the fight may continue without time limit. 25. Any situation, protest or doubt that might come up in the tournament must be notified to the organizers and to the Rules Committee who will make a determination. 26. Kayakers may launch from any area within the limits of the tournament, but must notify the organizing committee of their launch site. It is required to have come means of communication, such as a cellphone or VHS radio in good condition. 27. Kayakerers who are staying at Tarpon Nest may be towed by boats to the fishing site at their own risk. The operator of the boat, nor PPA or any sponsor will not be responsible for loss of equipment or damage to property. 28. Any angler fighting a fish must inform the organizers and the anglers in the area must show courtesy to the boat. Once the fish is captured, the organizers must be informed of the measurements, site and angler. If the capture is not informed, it may be disqualified. 29. The committee will have several ghost boats watching for compliance with the rules and taking photographs of the participants for promotional purposes or press. 30. If any angler or operator observes unacceptable behavior or incompliance with rules of the tournament, the organizers should be notified immediately. 31. Proof of capture: Fishing line maximum of 20 lbs. All fish must be captured the same day and within the limits established for the tournament. Fish must be captured using rod and reel (spinning or fly), only. Participants must use circular hook in case of fishing with natural bait, live or dead. If artificial bait is used, it is recommended to eliminate the barbs before using them. Leaders of more than 80 lbs nor more than 8 long are not allowed. A single angler must hook and fight the fish; no other angler may touch the rod. There must be photographic proof of the capture, in which the angler may be seen, along with the date of the capture, or the capture may be disqualified. All fish must be released (catch & release). Allowable natural baits are limited to: squid, mullet, sardines and mojarra.

5 Chumming is not allowed, nor may natural baits be released to attract game fish. Violating the rules may result in disqualification. 32. Each team will be provided with a DNA sample kit from Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, which must be returned at the end of the day. 33. Any disqualified participant will forfeit the registration fee. 34. Nets, gaffs or metal lip gaff may not be used to secure a hooked fish. 35. All species will be valid for points if they comply with the established minimum measurements, as listed in #36 below. All captured fish for tournament points must be photographed, showing the measurement, and released. 36. Valid species and point distribution: (all species may be board for photography purpose only, except for Tarpons greater than 38 ) 1. Tarpon (80 pts), greater than 30 measured up to the end of the tail fork. Tarpon greater than 30 and less than 38 may be boarded to take the photograph and then released as soon as possible. If it is greater than 38, it may not be boarded and it must be photographed showing the measurement in the water, and then released 2. Snook (80 pts), measuring greater than 20 total length. 3. Jacks (60 pts), greater than 20 total length. 4. Bonefish (100 pts), greater than 12 total length. 5. Snappers (40 pts), greater than 16 total length. 6. Every other species greater than 12 total length. (20 pts) 7. Inshore Grand Slam (all in the same day)(bonefish, Tarpon, Snook)- 300 pts 8. Super Inshore Grand Slam (all in the same day) (Tarpon, Bonefish, Snook and Jack)- 400 pts + Special Prize!
