4 MiRHiNO INSTRUCTIONS WELCOME TO MiRHiNO: There is an app available for smart phones and devices to access the Rhino Alarm Panel range, as well as the Falcon GSM Communicator. The app is available in both Android and Apple versions. The app will only connect to Rhino 68 or Rhino 816 alarm panels, or Falcon GSM Communicators, which are equipped with Sabre Radio Networks provisioned modems. User-friendly interface The Application is available in both Android and Apple smart phones Displays Arm status of panel, AC power and if the panel has been alarmed Away Arm, Stay Arm in 3 modes and Disarm panel Bypass zones Check status of zones Optional push notifications 3 P a g e

5 MiRHiNO WEBSITE PORTAL Features and Functions Secure Portal SSL Sign up for a MiRHiNO account Link a new device to your account See device specific info such as signal strength, client id, account code, serial number and communicator firmware version Personalize your device Rename the device Rename the zones Rename the users Log-in Page Log-in page details: URL: 1. Open up the MiRHiNO page in your web browser. 2. First-time users need to register an account. Click on Create New Account. 4 P a g e

6 3. Fill in your details and password. 4. Accept Terms and Conditions. 5. An will be sent to you to confirm your address. Once confirmed you can log into your account. Your account is now registered and your Home Page will open up. Device Portal The device portal page gives you an overview of your account and all devices that are linked to it. You can customize the colour scheme of this page by clicking on any colour bubble in the top left corner. Setting up your Profile information: 1. Click on the Profile Icon 2. 7 Add Device You have to add the device to your account manually. 1. Click on Add Device. 6 P a g e

8 2. Fill in the device Serial Number (S\N), which you will find on the Device Identification sticker. 3. Fill in the device Verification Code (V\C), which you will also find Device Identification sticker. 4. Choose your Device Model from the dropdown menu. 5. Click Add Device. Your Device is now added to your profile. Note that it can take a few minutes to for the cloud to link your physical device to your account. Select and View the Device In the left hand pane you will see a list of linked devices. Select the Device that you want to view. A dashboard will appear, which shows information on: Signal Strength Device Label Tab Firmware Version Device Serial Code Service Provider account code and Client ID 7 P a g e

9 Renaming Zones and Users Use this function to identify users and specific zone names to personalize your MiRHiNO experience. Renaming Zones will help you easily identify where there is a security breach, if a breach occurs. 1. In The Device View, click on the Change Device Labels link. 2. On this page you are able to change The Device name and Zone names, for example: Device Name: Rhino 816 Home Device Name: Rhino 816 Grandma Flat 8 P a g e Zone 1 Kitchen Zone 2 Front Door User 1 Peter User 2 Thabang Output 1 Front Yard Sprinklers Output 2 Pool pump 3. Click Save Configuration Setting to save your new settings NOTE: Clicking on Reset Config Changes will reset all the names back to default settings.

10 Account Settings These options can be found in the top right corner of the web portal. Profile: Here you can change the user s name and physical address. Settings: Here you can change the user s password and address. Log-Out: Here you can exit the MiRHiNO WEB Portal. MIRHINO APP FOR ANDROiD Features and Functions Scan a devices bar code to link a device to your existing MiRHiNO account. Connect to an ALARM PANEL (Rhino 816 and Rhino 68) and COMMUNICATOR (Falcon GSM). Control the alarm panel. Arm Disarm Stay Arm Check panel status. Zone status (Ready, Bypassed, Alarmed) Monitor AC Power Status Check if the panel failed to arm Push Notifications. 9 P a g e

11 Log-in Page Type in your MiRHiNO account details ( and password) to securely log-in to your mobile App. Device View All devices that are linked to your account is displayed. From here you will be able to control each individual device. Adding a New Device This App has a built-in scanner that allows you to scan an ALARM PANEL (Rhino 816 and Rhino 68) or COMMUNICATOR (Falcon GSM) Identification Sticker. 1. Select Add Device 2. Scan the device QR Code which you will find on the Device Identification sticker (in this book or stuck on the panel). 3. Once scanned, the device will automatically be linked to your account. It may take a few minutes for the device to be linked to your account please be patient. 10 P a g e

12 4. This is an alternative to adding a new device via the MiRhino com WEB Portal. Connecting to your Alarm Panel. 1. Select your desired Alarm Panel (Rhino 68 or Rhino 816) 2. Enter your User Panel (Security) Code* 3. App connects to your chosen Alarm Panel *NOTE: If you select the Remember User Code option, the App will not ask for this code in the future. Control / Panel / Zone View Here you can view Zone and Panel Status. You can also Away Arm, Stay Arm and Disarm and Bypass your panel, by touching the various buttons. 11 P a g e

13 Controls: Arm Disarm Stay Arm Mode (Rhino 68) 3 different Stay Arms Modes (Rhino 816 only) Stay Arm allows you to set the alarm for sections of the system only, as opposed to a full system arm. Your Panel Status: Shows if the system is Ready / Alarmed Can monitor AC Power Status Can check if the panel failed to arm Zone Control: Bypass / Un-bypass Zone by long-pressing on the Zone. Zone Status: Shows your individual Zones Shows if a Zone was alarmed Shows if a zone is bypassed Shows if zone is ready (open or closed) To Bypass or Un-Bypass a Zone, long-press the Zone and confirm your action. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS This App is able to send Push Notification Alerts from your ALARM PANEL (Rhino 816 and Rhino 68) and COMMUNICATOR (Falcon GSM). 12 P a g e

14 Set-Up Your Push Notification Alerts: 1. Click Menu Button 2. Select Notification Screen 3. Click on Settings Icon (wrench) 4. Select the Message Groups that you want to receive 5. Select Update. To View Push Notification Alerts: 1. Push Notifications Alerts will now appear in mobile device notification bar. 2. Click on Push Notifications Alert to see more detail Disconnect From Your Alarm Panel: Always disconnect from your Alarm Panel once you are done using the MiRHiNO App. 1. Select Disconnect 2. Takes you back to the Home page 3. Then Close the App OR Log-off 13 P a g e

15 NOTE: If you LOG OFF, you will need to Log in again (with your user name and password) when you next use the App. CONNECTING TO YOUR FALCON GSM NOTE: Only available on Android 1. Select the Falcon GSM Icon 2. App connects to your Falcon GSM Falcon GSM View Here you can: 1. View the Input Status for the 7 dry inputs. 2. Check AC Power Input 3. Check Battery Voltage 4. Toggle Relays 1 and 2 5. 19 Set-Up Your Push Notification Alerts: 1. Click Settings Button. 2. Select the Message Groups that you want to receive. 3. Select Done. To View Push Notification Alerts: 1. Push Notifications Alerts will now appear in apple device home screen. 2. Swipe Push Notifications Alert to see more detail 3. MiRHiNO App immediately opens up to show current status of device. Disconnect From Your Alarm Panel: Always disconnect from your Alarm Panel once you are done using the MiRHiNO App. 1. Select < Panel 2. Takes you back to the Home page 3. Then select Logout NOTE: If you LOGOUT, you will need to Log in again (with your user name and password) when you next use the App. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS NOTICE: MiRhino, it s Developers and Owners do not guarantee that Push Notifications will be delivered, or be delivered on time. This app is not a substitute for an alarm system or armed response security provider or insurance. Alarm systems should be checked weekly to ensure that all devices are working properly. 18 P a g e

20 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, WAIVER, AND LIQUIDATED DAMAGES. It is understood and agreed: MiRHiNO and its Directors, Officers, Shareholders, Partners, Subcontractors, Distributors, Retailers, Agents and Independent Contractors are not insurers nor is this agreement intended to be an insurance policy or a substitute for an insurance policy. You acknowledge and agree that the product does not offer guaranteed protection against burglary, robbery, theft, property damage, fire, smoke, bodily injury or any other type of emergency or damage. You are solely responsible for determining your insurance needs, and purchasing any necessary insurance. You agree to look solely and exclusively to your insurer to recover all loss, damage, or expense due to loss and/or damage to your personal property or real property allegedly caused by the product. You also agree to look solely and exclusively to your insurer in response to any claim for bodily injury, property damage, personal injury, and/or invasion of privacy allegedly caused by the product, including claims made by or against you. You hereby release MiRHiNO from any and all loss, damage, and/or expense which may occur as a result of your use, misuse, or attempted use, of the product, including, but not limited to, the failure of the product to perform, your alleged failure to comply with any relevant rule, statute, code, law or ordinance, and any act or omission of MiRHiNO. YOU acknowledge that it is impractical and extremely difficult to fix the actual damages, if any, which may proximately result from a FAILURE OF THE product, because, among other things: (a) The amount or value of property on the premises which may be lost, stolen, destroyed, damaged or otherwise affected by a failure of the product is uncertain; (b) The amount of possible damages for Bodily injury or death is Uncertain; (c) what portion, if any, of any loss and/or Damage was proximately caused by the failure of the product is uncertain; AND, (D) The nature of the incidents the Product is meant to alert you to are unpredictable. You understand and agree that your recovery of damages against MiRHiNO for any failure of the product, or any act or omission of MiRHiNO, is limited to the amount you paid for the product. In no event will MiRHiNO be liable to you for any lost profits, lost savings or incidental, indirect, special or consequential damages, arising out of your use or inability to use the 19 P a g e

21 product or the breach of this agreement, even if MiRHiNO is advised of the possibility of such damages. The limitation of liability to the price you paid for the product establishes MiRHiNO s exclusive liability to you, and applies where MiRHiNO is alleged to be, or is found liable for, any bodily injury, death, property loss, invasion of privacy, or damage, including, without limitation, any general, direct, indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, statutory or consequential damage, resulting from any alleged failure of the product. This limitation of liability shall apply irrespective of cause and regardless of whether such lawsuit or other claim is based upon active or passive negligence, breach of express or implied contract or warranty, contribution, indemnification, strict or product liability, failure to comply with any applicable law, or any other fault or failure of MiRHiNO, or the product. You acknowledge and agree that: (1) you have the opportunity to modify this limitation of liability by contacting MiRHiNO and negotiating for MiRHiNO s assumption of greater liability; (2) this limitation of liability does not conflict with any other provision in this agreement; and, (3) this limitation of liability provision does not render any other provision in this agreement ambiguous. Without limiting any portion of this section, you hereby further release MiRHiNO from any and all loss, damage and/or expense and accept full responsibility for any loss, damage and/or expense caused by the deactivation of product sensors or the creation of a profile of specific product sensors, some activated, some deactivated, to arm the product, and acknowledge that by deactivating any product sensor, either individually or through a profile of specific product sensors, you will not, even with the product armed, receive alerts from the product if, for example, a break-in occurs through a door or window with a deactivated sensor attached. 20 P a g e
