20 RENEWABLE ENERGY 19 Wind energy: It is the beggining of the structuring of wind energy generation productive chain. Pernambuco already has turbine plants of the Argentine group Impsa Wind and wind towers of the Spanish group that holds the RM Eólica in Pernambuco, both of them installed in Suape. 21 RENEWABLE ENERGY 20 Solar energy Untiel 2012, Pernambuco will have the first panels plant for solar energy in the Americas. The investment if of US$ 300 million. The plant in Pernambuco will be the only one in the Americas to use the latest technology in this industry, known as thin film. 22 ELECTRICITY 21 Transmitted through a wide, varied and complex system, consisting of 94 substations and more than 18,000 km of lines, at voltages of 69, 138, 230 and 500 kv. 24 WATER 23 Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento (Compesa): executes the policy of sanitation and is the concessionaire of water and sanitation supply services. Its services cover 171 municipalities (93.9% of total), through 3.6 thousand km of pipelines and 200 dams in operation. The monthly capacity is 40 million cubic meters of water, 27 million in Great Recife and 13 million in the countryside.

25 MINERAL EXTRACTION 24 Brazil is a major world producer of ceramic products, along with Spain, Italy and China, but it consumes almost all of its production. The Northeast production corresponds to 21% of national production and the consumption corresponds to 22% Red ceramic in Pernambuco: Centro-Oeste, Agreste and Zona da Mata regions = municipalities Caruaru, Bezerros, Recife, São Lourenço da Mata, Paudalho and Vitória de Santo Antão.
