3 What is REACH? Established in 2008 by WFP, FAO, UNICEF, and WHO, REACH embodies the spirit of working as One UN. REACH is a United Nations initiative that assists governments in countries with high burdens of child and maternal under-nutrition to accelerate the scale-up of food and nutrition actions REACH acts as a catalyst to help governments develop capacity through better nutrition governance and management. The REACH country approach and resource tools provide guidance for the implementation of multi-sectoral nutrition programming that cuts across government sectors.
