4 SBW for Windows 12.0 Page 4 of 10 June 2005 Saving and Exporting Configurations Module Objectives Upon completion of this module, you will be able to: 1. Save your configuration in the following ways: a. In a local database b. Under another file name c. As a WWB file d. As an image e. As a template f. As an exported file Saving and Exporting Step 1: When you have completed building your solution, click Close in the lower-right hand corner of the Configuration Worksheet window as shown in Figure 1 below. 5 SBW for Windows 12.0 Page 5 of 10 June 2005 A whiteboard appears with your solution icon on it. The whiteboard can be considered as a work file folder, containing one or more icons. Multiple whiteboards can be open at the same time to allow the user to multitask, if required. In Figure 2, we only have one whiteboard open. Figure 2: Whiteboard with solution icon SBW is a standalone application, meaning all of the application and data files are stored locally on your PC. Step 2: From the main menu, click File as shown in Figure 3 below. You can save your configuration as follows: 1. Save: Will save your configuration in a SBW local database for future reference. (The default file is Whiteboard 1.) 2. Save As: Will save your configuration in a SBW local database under another file name if desired. Use this to make a copy of your previously saved configuration. 3. Save to Local File: To send or share the configuration to another SBW user, select the Save As WWB File. This will save the configuration as a whiteboard.

6 SBW for Windows 12.0 Page 6 of 10 June Save Image: Saves the system diagram in.bmp format. 5. Save Template As: This function is used to send the file to CONRAD (.tpl format). 6. Export: Saves the file in a format that can be used in other applications: a. DMS (Microsoft Excel TM format) b. Eclipse (XML format) c. Active Answers (Microsoft Excel TM format) d. OA (Microsoft Excel TM format) e. Visio (Microsoft Visio TM format) requires Microsoft Visio TM to be installed on user s PC Figure 3: The various save options Note: If you get any errors, you will be prompted to acknowledge them in order to continue as shown in Figure 4 below. Acknowledge the error by checking the acknowledge boxes to the left of the errors, and then click Continue. Save accordingly.

You may save the configuration as the defaulted name Whiteboard 1 or rename it as you see fit as shown in Figure 5 below. You may save the configuration as the defaulted name Whiteboard 1 or rename it as you see fit as shown in Figure 6 below. Note the various file formats available to save the file in.

9 SBW for Windows 12.0 Page 9 of 10 June 2005 Using the Export Option If you want to export your configuration, click File Export from the main menu as shown in Figure 9 below. Figure 9: Exporting a configuration File Export Formats The formats available for export are explained below: 1. DMS (Deal Management System): An internal tool used by HP Sales Representatives primarily in Europe. This system uses a Microsoft Excel TM format. 2. Eclipse: HP Internal tool used for approving the pricing of Big Deals. It uses an XML file format. 3. Active Answers: Online configuration tool. There are three options for Active Answers, which all use Microsoft Excel TM file formats: i. Standard Format ii. With Formulas 4. Order Assistant (OA): Uses Microsoft Excel TM file format. 5. Visio Diagrams: This option is available for selected systems. This option can appear grayed out for two reasons: i. A user does not have Microsoft Visio TM installed on the PC. ii. The graphic information or the system is not available. 6. OneStop: Format Microsoft Excel TM format. 7. Line-item BOM: XML format.
