3 Finally, I have written or coauthored ca. 15 papers in the research topic of my PhD thesis, orally presented results of my research in several conferences and research projects meetings, attended several conferences, workshops and courses in the area of planning of optical networks, and contributed in the development of MatPlanWDM tool, an academic network planner developed by UPCT for educational and research purposes.
