2 Invitation On behalf of Swedish ITF Taekwon-Do Association, Skövde Taekwon-Do Club and All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation it is a great pleasure for me to invite you to the 25th Senior and 16th Junior European Taekwon-Do Championships 2010 which will be held in Skövde, Sweden from 30 th of April to 2 nd of May The first European Championships was arranged in 1976 in the Netherlands and since than there were 24 Senior and 15 Junior Championships arranged. I m very happy that this year we in Sweden have the honour to host the 25 year anniversary of the Senior European Championships. I will also promise that together with the officials from All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation we will do everything we can to make sure that the championships in Sweden will be as good as possible for all competitors, coaches, umpires and spectators. 4 Place and time of event The 25 th Senior and 16 th Junior European Championships will take place between the 30 th of April and 2 nd of May 2010 in Skövde, Sweden. The sports hall for the championships will be ARENA SKÖVDE located on Egnellsvägen 1 in Skövde. Arrival date and meeting point All groups should arrive to Skövde no later than on April 29 th 2010 before pm. Of course all teams are welcome to arrive before this date. The meeting point for accreditation and all payments will be Hotel Billingen Scandic which is situated in the central part of Skövde. Rules The rules for the championships will be the official rules of the All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation. Divisions The championships will be performed separately for seniors and juniors. Juniors must be born in the years from 1992 to Junior competitors born 1992 may either be Junior or Senior for the competition. 4

5 Equipment regulations All participants must use the official ITF dobok. In sparring competition only protection gear manufactured by Top Ten is allowed. All competitors will use sparring protection gear in red or blue colour depending on the draw. Attention! According to the Swedish health regulations, the organizer of the championships will NOT rent any sparring equipment during the championships. All participants must have their own protection gear. However it will be possible to buy equipment in the sports hall. Entry fees Competitors entry fee (both individuals and team members): 100 EURO/person Team entry fee: 50 EURO/team Attention! The entry fees should be paid ONLY IN EURO and CASH during the registration at the meeting point. Credit cards or other payments than cash will not be accepted. Registration of the competitors Registration of the competitors will be coordinated by All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation. The registration will be performed only on-line and this already opened and will close on the 25 th of April The login information will be sent by to all countries. Please note that every change in the registration for the competitors after the deadline will result in an additional fee of 50 EURO. For future information about the registration please watch the official web site for the championships: Insurance The Organizing Committee of the European Championships 2010 will not be financial responsible for possible injuries caused during the competition. All competitors must have full insurance coverage their own organisation/country. Accommodation The participants will be accommodated in 5 different hotels in the town. Booking of the accommodation should be made by the responsible person in each country. Please note that the Organizing Committee will not take any bookings from individual persons. We offer two different types of accommodation during championships: Package A - full board (hotel, breakfast, lunch, dinner) Place in a double room - 70 EURO/person/day Place in a single room - 85 EURO/person/day Package B - half board (hotel, breakfast, lunch) - very limited number of places Place in a double room - 60 EURO/person/day Place in a single room - 75 EURO/person/day 5

6 To make a booking for accommodation follow these steps: STEP 1 Fill in and send back to the Organizing Committee the Accommodation Form. After this the Organizing Committee will contact the responsible person in each country to confirm the preliminary booking. Important! The Accommodation Form, should have reached the organizing committee at the latest the 15 th of March After this date we can not guarantee places in the hotel or the above mentioned prices. STEP 2 When the preliminary booking for accommodation has been confirmed every country should pay 50% of the whole booking amount to the following account: Name of account: Skövde TKD Club SWIFT (BIC): NDEASESS IBAN: SE Please note that the accommodation will not be accepted until the requested amount has reached the organizers account. Conceivable fees for making the payment should be paid by the delegations and not by the organizer. STEP 3 After that the amount has reached the organizers account your booking will be officially accepted. This will be confirmed to the responsible person in each country. STEP 4 The remaining 50% of the amount for the accommodation will be paid at arrival to the meeting point during the teams registration for accommodation. Changing in the accommodation reservations It is possible to make small changes in the reservations until the 10 th of April After this date there will not be possible to change the reservations and the accommodation form will be used as the base of calculating the cost of accommodation that each country should pay at arrival. Attention! - Those countries which do not book accommodation through the organization committee of the championship will pay 100 EURO/person in order to receive the ID card. Without ID card, no persons can enter the sports hall. - All bookings of accommodation, and possible changes in the reservations, are made ONLY by the organizing committee. 6

7 Umpires The Organizing Committee will pay a 5 days/4 nights hotel accommodation including full board (no drinks included) from Thursday 29th of April 2010 to Monday 3rd of 2010 to a maximum of two (2) umpires from each participating country. The umpires will be accommodated in double rooms. Other umpires wishing to participate must pay their hotel accommodation according to above mentioned arrangements. Umpires must attend the umpire meeting on Thursday 29th of April 2010 at in the Umpire Hotel dressed as written in the ITF Umpire rules. Umpires not present at the umpire meeting on Thursday 29th of April 2010, at shall be removed from the umpire list and shall pay their own expenses. Coaches All coaches must wear either a training suit or a T-shirt and pants and running shoes while coaching. Only one (1) coach of a country is allowed entering the coaching zone at the same time. Only a coach can present an official protest. Please note that not more than two (2) coaches per country will have access to the drawing and to the coach meeting on Thursday 29th of April 2010 at How to get to Skövde You can get to Skövde in many different ways: By air plane The best way is to first fly to Gothenburg and from there take the bus or train which travels directly to Skövde. The train ride takes approximately 1 hour. Transportation We are also able to arrange transportation from the airport in Gothenburg to the hotel in Skövde. Please contact the organizing committee for details and prices concerning this. By train Skövde has good connections by railway with most Swedish cities. However, the fastest connections are with Stockholm and Gothenburg where you can choose between X2000 train (express) or ordinary train. By car There are no problems to travel comfortable by car in Sweden. Most of the roads are of very good standard, no matter how the weather conditions are. Swedish currency The currency used in Sweden is Swedish Crowns SEK. EUROS are not accepted in stores or restaurants. Make sure that you have exchanged your currency before arriving to Skövde as there is limited possibilities to exchange money during the week-end. 7

8 Visa Countries who need visa for entering in Sweden, should apply for it to the Swedish Embassy in their country as soon as possible. Send a copy of the Official Invitation letter to the Swedish Embassy and a list with the names of the persons travelling, dates of birth, passport date of issue and expire, name, address, telephone and to the head of the group during travelling. Important! Please send also a copy of this list to Organizing Committee by info@itfeurochamp2010.se or to the post address: Swedish ITF Taekwon-Do Federation Box Skövde Sweden Other matters The Organizing Committee of the championships will arrange transportation from the hotels to the sport hall during the competition. However the distance from almost all hotels is short so it is very easy also to go on foot and that takes approx min. The official European Championships party will be arranged at the same place for the seniors and juniors but in different parts of the hall. In the part for juniors there will be NO selling of alcohol drinks. All participants have free of charge entrance to the official EC 2010 party. All participants in European Taekwon-Do Championships 2010 will get access to the newly built Aqua Park for a reduced price. The Aqua Park is situated in the same building as the championships sport hall. Please note that Anti-Doping Commission is expected during the Championships. Important dates 10 th of February On-line registration will start. 15 th of March Finish of all reservation of accommodation for the championships. 10 th of April Last date to make some small changes in accommodation. 25 st of April Last date to make changes in the entry forms (on line). 29 th of April Last day for arrival to Skövde for all participating teams (>14.00). 8
