1 How does VASER Shape work? VASERshape Frequently Asked Questions The VASER Shape uses dual head ultrasound to target the unwanted fat directly underneath the skin. The ultrasound waves produce a "cavitational effect" over the tissue to promote fat loss. This means that the variable pressure of the ultrasound produces microbubbles that disrupt the fat cells. It only attacks the unwanted fat deposit, leaving the adjacent structures such as skin, blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue intact. How does the body get rid of the fat after a VASERshape treatment? VASER Shape's unique ultrasound treatment breaks the membranes of the fat cells and the fat cells burst. The content of the fat cells are then removed through the body's detoxification system and flushed away. What makes the VASER Shape treatment so unique? VASER Shape is noninvasive and shrinks the fatty layer of the treated areas without anesthesia and surgery. 2 How long is a treatment and how often should they be replaced? One session takes less than 1 hour. The treatments are done approximately once a week for each treatment area. A series of 6 to 10 treatments is usually recommended depending on the size of the treated area and the desired end result. What kind of care is required after the treatment? There is no downtime. After the treatment, one can immediately return to his/her daily routine. You should not have any pain or discomfort after the treatment. It is recommended to maintain adequate hydration before and after the treatment. What is the advantage of the VASER Shape over diet alone? The approach is different. With a diet, you can reduce non-specific weight, which is often appropriate and needed. The problem areas, however, you often cannot get rid of with diet alone. 3 Botox/Injectables Frequently Asked Questions Is Botox safe? Is Botox FDA approved? Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A) has been used in medicine for almost 30 years and provides over 180 medical uses. There are approximately 2300 published studies about it, making it one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. Botox is FDA approved in the United States and approved in more than 80 other countries outside the United States. Is Botox Painful? No. Most patients report very little discomfort. They describe it feeling like a mosquito bite or like squeezing a pimple. Is the procedure for Dermal Fillers painful? The discomfort is minimal. It also depends upon the area being treated. The good news is dermal fillers are prepared with lidocaine (a numbing agent). A topical numbing agent and/or ice, can be applied to the treatment area 10 minutes prior to your procedure to help reduce discomfort. Who should NOT use Botox? Women who are pregnant, women who are breast-feeding, and people who are taking certain antibiotics, have neuromuscular disorders, individuals with medical conditions that lower the body's immune response, or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive, or have an allergy to BOTOX - should not have injections. What is the Difference between Botox and Dermal fillers? The easiest way to visualize the difference between Botox and Dermal Fillers is to think of mountains and valleys. Botox smoothes out mountains and prevents them from being pushed together, while Dermal Fillers fill in the valleys. Can Botox and Dermal Fillers be used in combination at the same Treatment? Botox and Dermal Fillers are very often used in combination with each other and at the same treatment. Depending on the desired outcome this combination can actually achieve the best results.

If I just had a Chemical Peel or Laser treatment, do I need to wait before I have an Aesthetic Injectable treatment? If you recently had a laser treatment or chemical peel, it is recommended to wait at least one week before an aesthetic injectable treatment; or until the area is fully healed and the skin is completely back to normal. A VI Peel or Glycolic Glow peel AFTER an injectable treatment however, is a perfect addition to improve your skin's overall texture, clarity and glow. 5 What is Medical Micro-Needling? Micro-Needling Frequently Asked Questions For skin micro-needling, we use an electric skin needling device made especially for this purpose. The device is a pen shaped studded with 12 very fine needles. It is a medical device used in micro needling to break down old scar tissue and to stimulate skin cells to proliferate. This cell multiplication results in the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers as well as in new capillaries for an improved blood supply. What conditions can be treated or improved with Medical Micro-Needling? The device slides along the skin, penetrating the upper layers of the skin to a depth of up to 2mm to create numerous tiny needle wounds. In response to the stimulus, the skin plumps and thickens, reducing the appearance of scars, and fine lines and wrinkles. What does the procedure involve? The skin is cleaned and numbing cream may be applied to lessen discomfort. Most people will experience redness and mild swelling in a similar way as mild sunburn for hours and there may be minimal pin-point bleeding and/or bruising. Within a week or two, you will notice that your skin is smoother and more radiant looking but the full effects won t be seen until a few months later. What is the down time after Medical Micro-Needling treatment?

6 The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last for 12 to 48 hours. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend hyaluronic acid after the procedure, and to protect the skin with zinc based sunblock. The use of mineral makeup is recommended after procedure. Since the tiny pricking channels close within one hour, and provided the procedure is done under clinical conditions, post-op infections are extremely unlikely. What should I avoid on my skin after treatment? To ensure the right healing environment, for 2-3 days do not use AHA s (glycolic Acid), retinol, acidic or active ingredients. Exposure to sun should also be avoided or zinc based sunblock should be used. What are the side effects of the Medical Micro-Needling procedure? There are virtually no negative side effects, and none have ever been reported in over 150,000 procedures performed worldwide. Am I a candidate for the Medical Micro- Needling? Medical micro-needling can be safely performed on all skin types and all skin colors. As the epidermis and in particular, melanocytes in the basal area are left intact. There is minimal risk of pigment change or post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. Skin micro-needling can treat sensitive and fragile areas that are difficult to treat with other procedures. Most individuals find benefit from the application of glycolic acid. In almost all cases, patients will notice a improved vitality of skin. How long does it take to have a chemical peel? About thirty minutes in total, hence it has often been referred to as "the lunch time peel". Can I go right back to work? In most cases, work or other normal activities may be resumed immediately. Is a chemical peel painful? No. There is a mild degree of "tingling" or a slightly itchy sensation while the glycolic acid is in contact with the skin.
