2 Knight Servo Systems Knight Servo Systems are Intelligent Assist Devices (IAD) that provide controlled transfers of workloads with speed, precision, quality and unmatched reliability. Its various programmability allows for many application solutions. Traditional hoists and tractors require the operator to push buttons in order to initiate a natural ergonomic motion. Servo Systems enable an operator to simply grasp the handle and move the load, eliminating push buttons. As an extension of an operator s natural movement, this technology greatly improves accuracy, responsiveness and repeatability; which increases safety, productivity and motions, lagging reaction time, and the removal of inertia on heavy loads. 4 Servo Systems Features SERVO HOIST AND TRACTOR HOIST LED Status Indicators The LED Status lights will indicate the state the system is in, i.e. Lift Mode (Green LED) or Float Mode (Blue LED). The LED status lights may also be programmed to indicate actions such as: Clamps Closed, Vacuum On, etc. Attachment Choices Each hoist is equipped with a control handle and a EBA1213 Shackle. The EBA1219 Hook and EBA1183 Quick Disconnect are not included, but are an available option. This feature improves maintenance response time by providing illuminated signals that correspond with a diagnostic chart, i.e. Bus Fault, Low Voltage, etc. Clamp Magnet Custom Vacuum Lifter Virtual Limits limitations. Speed Reduction Points Programmable points in which the hoist will automatically reduce speed to allow precise placement of the load. Standard Float Mode The standard Float Mode can be enabled or disabled depending on the application. This allows for a more accurate and repeatable positioning of the load. Tractor will maintain positioning; homing is not required even after cycling power. Line Speed Synchronization Tractor travel speed may be synchronized with the speed of an assembly line. Optional encoder maintains the line speed. Clutch (24VDC) When disengaged, it allows for a free wheel condition. 5 Servo System Controls SERVO CONTROL SERIES Knight servo system control handles are designed to ensure an ergonomically correct position for the operator while maintaining full control of the load. Servo Programmable servo control handles can be customized to accommodate each applications requirements. Servo control handles are inline intuitive tools that need little to no-worker training. The control handle provides instantaneous touch response; just grab the handle and go. EBA1054 Wireless Remote and Receiver Compact, light and rugged wireless remote unit used for material handling and industrial applications. The and programmed to simulate the control functionality of a Knight Remote Pendant Control Handle. Includes: Two [2] remote transmitters and one [1] receiver unit. EBA1165 EBA1141 Analog (LMM) Load Monitoring Module with (OCI) Operator Controlled Interface This inline mounted Analog LMM is used in applications when an inline control handle is not a practical solution. It is fully programmable with D-Sub programming port. Includes illuminated LED Lights for Lift and Float modes and a Safety Run-Stop Button. Load Cell Fixture Handle for push buttons. The UP/DOWN and directional motion is initiated by grasping anywhere on the responsive feature. includes two load cells for X/Y movements. EPDA9600 Two Speed Pendant The Knight Dual Speed Pendant control handle is a non-programmable handle which is an electrically powered pendant which allows for a (2) two speed operation by simply compressing the thumb lever push buttons. (Available in a Single or Two Speed option) Note: Two-Speed Remote Pendant Shown. Remote Two Speed Handle with Operator Control Interface (OCI) This Dual Speed Pendant control handle can be mounted separately from the end of the chain, on a SAFETY FEATURES SERVO HOIST AND TRACTOR HOIST: Overload Capability If load parameters exceed programmed capacity, the hoist will not engage until the load is removed. This safety feature prevents an operator from loading or transferring more weight than the allowable system rating. I/O Interlocks Programmed I/O Interlocks will prevent the unintentional release of loads while in transfer. It interfaces with the load sensor, which continuously 4 outputs are available. Includes: illuminated LED lights for Lift and Float modes and a Safety Run-Stop Button. Inline Control Handle with Trigger This Analog Inline control handle is mounted inline of the chain. It is equipped with a 500lb Grip Sen- sor and either a 750lb or 2000lb load sensor with new trigger actuation enables the handle speed to change direction faster, requiring less force to move up and down. Includes illuminated LED lights for the Lift and Float mode operation and a Safety Run-Stop Button Analog (LMM) Load Monitoring Module with Pass Through This inline mounted Analog LMM with pass through programming is used in applications when an inline control handle is not a practical solution. It is fully ports and a 9-pin D-Sub programming port. Fail-Safe Brake In the event of a power outage, or when the run/stop button is pushed; a fail-safe braking system engages to hold the unit in place. The system is halted until power is restored. No re-setting required. Load Sensing A built-in load sensing function allows the device to adjust dynamically as load capacity changes. Movement Interrupt Cycle If moving in an auto-mode cycle, the Servo System will automatically stop if an obstacle or operator crosses its path. SERVO CONTROLS: Trigger Actuation Control Lever (EBA1304) Incorporated into the handle grip, the Trigger will prevent unintended movement of the servo system. The operator has to depress the trigger to initiate any up or down movement. When the operator releases the trigger control, the servo system will deactivate. New servo software code for the trigger enables the handle speed to change direction faster, requiring less force to move up and down. Illuminated Run/Stop Button The Run/Stop Button is a manually operated push button switch located on the control handle. When pushed it activates the Fail-Safe Braking System and deactivates the servo system, it will hold it in place until the power is restored.
