The psitin will invlve planning, executin, cntrl and evaluatin f all fund raising activities fr the agency, as well as marketing and cmmunicatins that supprt fundraising, as part f the revenue gals f Victria Sexual Assault Centre Sciety. The Resurce Develpment Manager will wrk clsely with the Executive Directr, the Bard f Directrs, and senir staff t enhance and supprt the revenue gals f the Sciety and t ensure that there is a stable and increasing level f resurces fr peratins and future develpment. The Resurce Develpment Manager is a member f the Executive Cmmittee. Executive Directr 1. Resurce Develpment Campaigns Manages the perfrmance f resurce develpment: annual campaigns (including direct mail, dnatins frm individuals, crpratins, service clubs, fundatins, third-party special events and rganizatin-planned events), planned giving, majr gifts; grant writing and ther initiatives as apprpriate. 2. Planning In cnjunctin with the Executive Directr, develps and implements shrt- and lng-term strategic and peratinal plans fr resurce develpment and marketing. Develpment Manager
3 Key Duties and Respnsibilities cnt.: 3. Budget Cntributes t annual rganizatinal budget preparatin prcess fr expected revenues. Respnsible fr management f annual department budget. Prvides auditrs with all dnatin revenue infrmatin. Is aware f the financial strategic plan, risk management plan and accessibility plan t include in cmmunicatin and marketing strategies. 4. Grant Writing/Request Fr Prpsal In cllabratin with the Resurce Develpment and Cmmunicatin Crdinatr and Prgram Managers, the Resurce Develpment Manager versees crdinatin f grant funding and RFP prcess, including writing grant applicatins, mnitring and reprting. Writes and edits final drafts t assure prfessinal dcuments fr grant submissins. Ensures that submissins meet the gals and missin f the rganizatin. 5. Relatinship Cultivatin/Recgnitin Establishes and maintains strng relatinships with dnrs, crprate spnsrs, grant funders and partners. Participates in identificatin and cultivatin f prspects. Oversees cmmunicatins with stakehlders and recgnitin plans fr dnrs, vlunteers and staff. O Respnsible fr prmting cmmunicatin with the public, funders, ptential dnrs, members, crprate partners, staff and vlunteers thrugh newsletters, brchures, website, appeals, media supprt, and public awareness events. 6. Marketing/Cmmunicatins Develp and implement marketing and cmmunicatins materials as a part f the risk management, accessibility and strategic plan. Write news releases, annual reprts, articles, p-ed pieces and advertisements. Wrk with lcal media building relatinships with a variety f media liaisns including interviews, presentatins and ther public speaking duties. Develp and versee web page and scial media and handle all advertising. Develpment Manager
4 Key Duties and Respnsibilities cnt.: 7. Management f Staff and Cntractrs Respnsible fr hiring, evaluatin, disciplinary actin up t and including terminatin f all Resurce Develpment Office staff. Respnsible fr versight f any cntractrs engaged by the Resurce Develpment Department. 8. Vlunteer Leadership and Supprt Prvide training and supprt t fundraising vlunteers in cnducting their rles and respnsibilities in regards t fundraising. 9. Database and Recrds Management Ensure that the Resurce Develpment infrmatin management systems are develped, maintained and managed. Ensure that privacy, ethics and integrity are maintained in relatin t dnr recrds fr all files and systems. Research database prducts t enhance Resurce Develpment infrmatin management, participate and lead future IT mdificatins as part f the risk management, accessibility and strategic plans. 10. Executive Team As a member f the Executive Team, attend and participate in meetings as required. 11. Other Undertake ther duties and special prjects as required, where apprpriate and as time permits. 5 Qualificatins: Educatin, Training and Experience: University degree is essential r equivalent training and experience. Certificate in fundraising (i.e., CFRE r in prcess f attaining CFRE r ther designatin) is preferred. This psitin requires a prven track recrd f fundraising and prgram develpment. A minimum f five years prgressively respnsible experience is required. Essential knwledge: annual campaign management, including direct mail, telemarketing, understanding f majr gift prgrams and planned giving. Special event versight experience. Demnstrated recrd f resurce develpment planning, business planning, implementatin and evaluatin. Demnstrated experience with cmmunicatins and media relatins including news releases and advertising. Demnstrated experience with budget management, marketing and public relatins. Skill in handling sensitive tpics while maintaining cnfidentiality. Skill and experience in wrking with Bard and ther vlunteers. Excellent cmputer skills including dnr database management are preferred. Jb Skills and Abilities: The psitin requires superir strategic, rganizatinal, supervisry and cmmunicatin skills, including public speaking and writing. Superir interpersnal skills are required fr interactins with a diverse grup staff, vlunteers, dnrs, and cmmunity. The Resurce Develpment Manager will be a prven, experienced prfessinal wh is a team player and wh can prvide leadership t the Resurce Develpment Department and vlunteers.
