6 Restricted Radio Licence Examination - Unitas Flying School Page 6 Flight Plan. File a flight plan for a flight with the following details: Aircraft: White and blue Cessna 172 with the registration ZS-JTC. Equipment: VHF radio, ILS, ADF, VOR and mode A&C transponder. The aircraft has one type of emergency radio, namely an ELBA. Do you know what this stands for? Furthermore, there is no survival equipment or dinghies on board. People on board will be yourself and a friend. Departure time is 07h00 Bravo. Route: Rand to Gabarone. Although you are departing from Rand Airport, you first have to go to Lanseria. Do you know the reason for this? Other information you will require is the time to the FIR and the time to your destination. The FIR will be reached in 01h20 and another 15 minutes to your destination. The endurance of the aircraft is 05h00. Use your own name as pilot-in-command. Use your own information for items not given above which are required on the flight plan. The ICAO code for Gabarone is FBSK. The code for Lanseria can be found in your Radio Handbook. On the back of your flight plan, write your answers for the two questions included in the Flight Plan details. [20] The Pass Mark for this paper is 75%. The Flight Plan is marked separately with a required pass mark of 80%.
7 Restricted Radio Licence Examination - Unitas Flying School Page 7 Flight Plan. File a flight plan for a flight with the following details: Aircraft: White and blue Cessna 172 with the registration ZS-SAA. Route: Heidelberg to Margate. Although you are not flying through controlled airspace, you may not fly directly to Margate. Do you know the reason for this? Other information you will require is the time to your destination. Your total flight time will be 0305 Hrs. The endurance of the aircraft is 05h00. Use your own name as pilot-in-command. Use your own information for items not given above which are required on the flight plan. Your route has four legs. The first leg is to WRV, from there to LYV, thence to Donnybrook and the last leg direct from there to Margate. Donnybrook is not registered with an ICAO code, so the coordinates are required. These are: 29 degress and 56 minutes South, 29 degrees and 53 minutes East. The directions to fly on your route will be as follows: FAHG WRV: 174 deg. mag. WRV LYV: 167 deg. mag. LYV Donnybrook: 196 deg. mag. Donnybrook FAMG: 181 deg. mag. Check the ground elevation profile on the supplied route map to enable you to choose the correct flight levels to fly at. On the back of your flight plan, write your answers for the two questions included in the Flight Plan details. [20] The Pass Mark for this paper is 75%. The Flight Plan is marked separately with a required pass mark of 80%.
