Main ScanEx s Activity in the Nature Protection, Natural Resources Management and Disaster Losses Reduction 1. Forests inventory and monitoring of illegal logging projects. 2. Operative multi-mission space imaging of the disaster zones. 3. Marine Applications: oil spills monitoring and illegal fishing control, ship routing in ice conditions, harp seals breeding zones protection in the White Sea. 4. Satellite control of illegal activities in the National parks and Nature Protection Zones. 5. Forest fires multi-mission monitoring service. 6. Educational activity for the satellite control technology development in Federal and regional Universities.
ScanEx Fire Monitoring Service
Experience in Operative Services for Disaster Management Relaying on the own distributed ground stations network SCANEX has developed fast-responsive services for disaster zones monitoring. Key technologies: -change detection (using huge data archive), - rapid mapping, - fast product delivery via web-portal. Derailed train Main clients: -Ministry of Emergency Situation (EMERCOM); -Regional Administrations; -Forest Fire Service, etc. SAR Sensors RADARSAT-1 ENVISAT-1 Multispectral Optical Sensors SPOT 4, 5, IRS-P5, -P6,-1D, Landsat-5 Very High Resolution Optical Sensors Eros A, Eros B, GeoEye-1, IKONOS, WorldView-1/2 Flooded village Fire in Taiga
Fast Product Delivery via Kosmosnimki-Flooding Web-portal
Satellite Monitoring of Spring Flood Development in the Northern Dvina Basin (Russian North-West) SCANEX has developed technology for potential ice jam zones detection analyzing river ice cover condition on the SAR and multispectral images. 7 detected ice jam hazardous areas were verified and confirmed during on-site inspections by Arkhangelsk HydrometeoCenter specialists.

Damage Assessment: Anaglyph Images based on Stereo Pairs We propose to use anaglyph for rapid relief and damage assessment and change detection. Anaglyph may be produced from stereo pairs collected at different moments and with different view angles: - WV-1/2 and EROS B; - GE-1 and EROS B; - GE-1 and WV-1/2 etc. Advantage: - Relief and damage assessment without detailed DEM
Damage Assessment Map of Port-au-Prince Produced by SCANEX in the Interests of the EMERCOM of Russia SCANEX Center was contracted by EMERCOM for rapid mapping and products supplying during the humanitarian mission in Haiti. Satellite image-derived maps were delivered to EMERCOM Task Group in Haiti for search and rescue operations planning in Port-au- Prince
SCANEX Center provided sea pollution and ship detection services in seas around Russia. Marine SAR-based Services: Oil Spills and Ships Routing Monitoring Operative products are supplied via Kosmosnimki web-portal for clients: Lukoil, Rosneft and Kazakhstan companies, Regional Clients.
